Z-Move is an extra move that can only be used once in a battle. To use a Z-Move, the Pokemon has to know another move of the same type and must be holding the Z-Crystal that corresponds with that type.
So for example, Pikachu can use Bloom Doom (the Grass type Z-Move) if it holds the Grass Z-Crystal and knows a Grass move like Grass Knot.
For competitive play it adds a new layer of strategy in team building, as you have to choose which Pokemon can use the Z-Move and which type you want it to be. Also, it's some serious mindgames in battles.
Are Z-moves limited to only being able to use 1 per match or is it just that Pokemon can only use it once per match? The second seems a bit OP. The first sounds like you could have a few Pokemon Z-move ready and need to plan when/which Z-move to use... I hope it is the first.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
@DefHalan I'm positive that you'd have to choose which Pokemon uses the Z-Move. You could probably have more than one holding a Z-Crystal, but like with Mega Evolution once you use it you can't use it again on another Pokemon.
You guys made some good points about the new Alolan forms. I only said they may be running out of ideas due to these not simply being new Pokemon altogether. For example we have never had an arctic fox Pokemon, but it doesn't seem right to redesign Ninetales just to fit the mold of an Ice-type fox.... if that makes sense. For example, I want to see a dolphin Pokemon, but it would be weird if they made a Goldeen variant that looked like a dolphin. (not the best example but hopefully my point gets across) It only seems sort of lazy to me, when they can just create new Pokemon.
But I suppose with the concept of these Pokemon adapting to the environment, it makes a lot more sense, which is why I don't mind the idea behind the new Exeggutor. I guess I am only worried how long it will take until we start seeing even more of these redesigned Pokemon, when we could be getting brand new Pokemon designs instead.
And with all that being said... I had hoped for older Pokemon to become relevant again, so I guess I got my wish. I'm still trying to figure out what I think of them, but I am actually hoping to see more Alolan forms... When I think about it, it really does open up more possibilities for old Pokemon to be renewed. If they keep this up maybe some of my old favorites can get new typings...
So yeah, Sun & Moon is officially the Orange Island league, judging from those trials. Not sure how I feel about that. Sounds kind of tedious. Same with Z-Moves, they're basically Move tutors, only with even more pointless fetch-questing...
With that said, that Poke-Ride thing looks amazing, and I actually think all the new pokemon they added are pretty sweet so far. I also love that Alolan EXeggutor, I was wondering if they'd do something like that. Ice/Steel Sandslash is a childhood dream come true, too...and I'd be lying if I said I didn't love the Alolan Ninetails' design. I still kinda wish they'd come up with a more unique pokemon instead of adapting an old design, but at least it doesn't look like just a palletswap.
@DefHalan Yeah, those were the ones we've been talking for a while. When I shared them here many were sure that they wouldn't be real, but you never know with this stuff so I prefer to always consider them as a possibility and not labeling anything as real or fake. Who knows if they'll end up being real, but with each news they keep sounding more authentic. If they aren't, I just hope that rowlett's final evolution looks similar to the one shown in the picutre.
Alolan Nidoking & Nidoqueen are Poison/Fighting-type
Alolan Growlithe & Arcanine are Water-type
Alolan Doduo & Dodrio are Fighting/Flying-type
The previous versions of Pokémon which have taken on new forms will only be accessible by bringing in from older games
Furfrou gets new styles
New cat Pokémon varies in type and appearance based on breeding
There is a new snowman Pokémon line with two stages and it is Ice/Ghost
Not to get hopes up, but there may be two final evolutions for each starter
There will be no traditional Gyms and no Pokémon League in Alola. Your goal is to actually create one. After you -o, an Elite 4 will appear which are the leaders of each island
The final starter evolutions will be an Archer, a Wrestler and a Siren
The diamond stones will be collectible throughout the region and act similarly to Mega Stones but not exactly
New Pokémon based on a dolphin, sea cucumber, snowman, mushroom and a rugby monkey are there
Rockruff’s evolution is a Werewolf
Mashadow, another copyrighted Pokémon name, has a very unique type combo
When it comes to the final evolution starts, I just hope Litten's is fake. The other two look great. I was more referring to these other leaks.
@DefHalan On those Alolan Pokemon typings, they may not be accurate as the same leak said that Alolan Ninetales would be Fire/Fairy. The Pokemon receiving them are likely legit though.
On a side note, if there is an Alolan Alakazam, would it still Mega Evolve into the same Mega Alakazam, or would they introduce a new one?
@DefHalan Oh I see, I did share a video after that with some of those points like the lack of gyms and Rockruff's evolution as a werewolf but I don't remember many of the other ones you are showing in that video. I hope that the starters get two final evolutions as the list mentions, because many Litten fans are disappointed with this final form. At least they should make him fire/dark or something else.
I wonder how that would look. A werewolf is a wolf during the full moon and a human the rest of the time. So you either get a wolf or something like this to keep it wolf/human-like
It's part fairy, no? Moonstone maybe? Or just a level up, they're their own species so they don't have to follow regular Vulpix's evolution.
But it's not like they can't introduce new stones either. Maybe they could finally do away with some of the dumber Eeveelution methods while they're at it (screw Sylveon and Glaceon/grass-eon's evolutions)
I don't know what you're talking about, we're walking around rocks in the snow for that Ninetails
