The regular 3DS must've sold terribly in the U.S. compared to the 2DS & 3DSXL for them not to release the New 3DS version. Very surprising decision and disappointing for the fans who want one.
They basically stopped selling the regular 3DS in NA when the 2DS came out, so it's not as though people had the chance to buy them even. I hope they discontinue the 2DS and introduce the new 3DS instead. It would be stupid to continue to sell the 2DS once games release that are only compatible with the new models.
Disappointed that they're not selling the regular model, but I'm also disappointed that they don't have the metallic blue XL. I mean, that color is amazing! I'm definitely going to wait a while before upgrading, either for metallic blue or a regular model.
I've wanted to upgrade to the larger XL screen for a long time. I've recently found the screen on my regular 3DS a little too small and sometimes strenuous to look at. I don't play my 3DS very much anymore because of that.
So when the N3DS XL was announced, I just decided to wait and upgrade to that when it came to NA. So I'm not complaining about about no regular size being available. But I do understand why people would be upset.
Maybe NoA just doesn't want to confuse consumers any more than they already have. I would assume the XL sells better than the regular 3DS, so they're probably looking at that too.
Might try to snag the Majora's Mask edition. I've always wanted a Zelda edition system.
Well that's a botched launch if I ever saw one. Let me get this straight.
New 3DS Launches in North America, but it's only the XL version.
It doesn't come with an AC adapter, despite the fact that every other Nintendo handheld revision in the US has
It seems to be replacing the Amiibo stand for 3DS.
Screw you NOA.

While I find many of the upgrade for the New 3DS are very substantial but now is not the time of release the product because many of the games can be played on any other model of the 3DS with Xenoblade Chronicles being the only exception. Yes, some games will take advantage of the the right stick but these features in-game are not substantial enough to buy a New 3DS right away. If you already own a 3DS, you are better off waiting for either a sale/price drop or the momentum of exclusive features and titles picks up unless you really want to play Xenoblade Chronicles. I will wait.

Wrong!
They are still producing the adapter.

Personally, I don't think it's that big of a deal that it doesn't a charger. It's not like they haven't been using the same one since the DSi....

What's your source on that? They didn't even mention the adapter, they acted like the n3DS is the only way to use Amiibo on 3DS games.
In fine print during the Direct, they said something to the effect of "Please wait for more information regarding amiibo compatibility on older Nintendo 3DS systems."
Besides, they announced the adapter during E3 and the New 3DS (in Japan) in August. They clearly already knew that they would have amiibo compatibilty built into the New 3DS. It's not like they turned around and scratched the adapter because of the New 3DS.
Just wait.
