...Yeah, 4U had awesome cutscenes in general...everyone loved them, why did they make them even worse than before MH4/4U came out in the next game? T.T
I'm fine with little to no story, but...seeing monster intros in 4U were just...awesome. My favorite example being Teostra, what does he do now? Does he just appear out of nowhere and goes "rawr" and that's it? (haven't gotten to him yet)
I'm guessing that even Nakarkos's intro is crap here. :c

Yeah, the monster intros were pretty great in 4U. Especially how the camera would always zoom back to your character, bringing you into the scene. I wish they had just copied them for Cross, though I guess that wouldn't have worked with the new areas.
Dunno why it wouldn't...maybe they were just lazy. (either that or it was because of Prowler Mode, but even then, they could've just went with the previous generations style...)
@Megumi_Sagano This game's pretty firmly established to have been a side project, done by the B-Team (whose other games mostly just recycled cutscenes from the main, numbered title of that generations). The A-team is working Stories right now.
(And Nakarkos just slowly rises out of the bony floor and roars. I know that because I just soloed my HR3* urgent and am now High Rank.)
@Tsurii The "flagships" aren't really flagships at all. They're just four new monsters that expand upon the 4th gen's previously lacking amount of new monsters.

Basically. With these guys, the removal of guild quests, and the 3 other new monsters, Generations is basically like "Here, we fixed fourth gen for you."
I'm not even that hot on aerial and striker style, but I really do love this game. Just all of the balance tweaks are invaluable. Long sword lives!
I also miss the classic monster intros. The ones in 4U are great, but I prefer the ones in 3U as they showed the monster doing cool things instead of just attacking the hunter.
I'm still only in the 2 star quests, and the game is ok so far, but story is disappointing. I'm sure the gameplay will get better as I start hunting tougher monsters.
4U's intros were epic and more realistic though...looking back the older ones just seemed random. Rathalos appears, does a few aerial sweeps, RAAAAAWR!!!!
Rhenopolos: WTF is your problem dude?

You've all noticed how much faster the combat is right? It makes switch axe a heckuva lot more fun to play now that the animations are so breezy.
People were talking about how fast things seemed when the style trailers were first being uploaded for the Japanese release, but that talk seems to have disappeared. I'd love some numbers for this.
(As for Switch Axe, don't you mean Non-switch Sword? Energy Charge is a thing.)
I'm working towards the Kecha Wacha armor for my first HR set. It's got Constitution +1 with 13 points into the skill and Stamina Recovery Up, but -9 points in the stamina skill. If I get the right charm so I can have Constitution+2 while keeping Stamina from going -10, I'll have a solid Aerial set.
Y'know how you know Generations is a great game? When I don't hate the khezu fight.
It's still without music, but seeing the electricity spark in its veins is such an improvement from what was just a plain old ugly monster in 4U. Not only that, but the aerial jump can actually trigger from its head when it goes all bendy straw. Such masterful hit boxes!
1: I learned on reddit that you can craft first aids into first aid+ (the mega potion equivalent) with honey.
2: Aerial great sword is super fun. I wasn't sold on the style before, but with the GS you can do a leaping slash akin to Link's dash attack from Smash 4, jump and vault off the monster, and aim a level 3 charge any direction in midair. It's basically an entire new weapon with a complete different—and much faster—playstyle.
3: Nakarkos' item descriptions are SICK. No joke, the hammer's is "This hammer exists to beat back the ignorant souls that can't be redeemed even through death." You don't get that on Super Nintendo. I love it!
I just realized...I can FINALLY escape Najarala's coil attack easily with other weapons now. lol
Using a Gunlance against that thing in 4U was impossible for me because of that, by the time I put the weapon away it's too late.

Oh my god, Nibelsnarf! What is this thing?! I don't remember fighting it in MH4U. What an absolute pain this monster is to fight!
Didn't die to it, but I used all of my potions and spent the entire fight running around like a chicken with its head cut off because this stupid thing kept ambushing me from all directions the whole fight.
Only mounted it three times the whole fight because he's almost constantly moving and keeps 90% of his body under the sand when he's not actively trying to murder you.
