Hello everyone, how are all of you doing? I need some help for I am a bit flummoxed by something on Mount Snowpeak.....

EARLY SPOILERS POSSIBLE

When I reached Mt. Snowpeak, I was an Adept Woodcutter and an Adept Miner. I noticed the White Firs and the Platinum Deposits. I thought I should take the time to gather these resources but for some reason....I can't. I have a Silver Pickaxe and I forget what kind of axe I have for woodcutting but it is level 3. Am I missing something?

Are you getting 0's when you strike the trees or ore? What's your strength? If you haven't been promoting points into strength you might need to start. When I first got to the upper part of the mountain I was barely taking any hit points off and I was an adept. You just might need to level up more. I just became a minor and I'm destroying the ore spots in one hit with the second pickaxe.

So that's why.....ok, thanks! I thought it was a bit odd that I could cut down a Sacred Mana Tree and yet can't cut down a White Fir tree......time to focus on strength!

@MrGameluvr what spoony sayd try to level up strength I been leveling that stat almost exclusively (one more level till i reach 50 ^_^ )

Food helps as well. I went from 0 to 4 which changed everything for ore and trees

Thanks guys. What I've been doing so far is trying to keep all of my stats balanced so I could be a jack-of-all-trades kind of character (good at everything but not proficient at one singular skill). However, if I want to continue Woodcutting and Mining, I will have to be the strongest Woodcutter and Miner that ever existed!

Also, one thing I've been curious about: when I report to a Master, do I have to be that particular Life when I talk to him to get the stars for that Life? For example, if I went to Duglas (the mining master) to report my progress but I was an Angler at the time, would the Stars go towards my life as an Angler or towards my Life as a Miner?

Thanks for the info! As for stat resetting, here's what I found:
"Al Maajik town at night. Look for the library looking building. Look for the entrance inside. You will see a book that turns into a "ghost". He sells items in the morning and resets stats at night."

@MrGameluvr That's good to know as I've put basically nothing into intelligence and focus.

Apparently, none of you took the advice of Exactly Audrey and spread your stats out.

EDIT: Oh, dear, that was a bad mistake. None of you saw that!

Actually it doesn't matter... just keep playing and you'll see what mean, also after dumping all my points into strength it hit 50 and it wonn't let m go any further (im OP as is ) so it looks like FOR NOW thats the cap for points I just unlocked the DLC at Lv50 and am heading to origin island tonight!

@Spoony_Tech bummer! Well maybe we can get together during the week when we catch each other on ally. Right now I only know one good raiding area for bounties. I started Tailoring which is pretty cool. You can actually make a little money just buying mats, crafting then selling back to shops which is how it should be. You don't make much money but at least you don't get killed either. I'venever seen a game where you can at least break even selling your crafts to shops. II'm averaging +10k each time I craft in bulk. This is one of those games you never want to end!

@Windy I totally agree! I'm doing my best to not advance the story as much as possible. I'm starting to try other jobs a bit more now. All to help as a carpenter though. I really like making my own furniture. I can now pretty much cart the whole pirate set!

Oh and there's a good chance I might be able to join you for an hour or so on Sunday. Only time will tell though.

Nice on the Furniture! Sunday we are having 2 sessions. first session is at 12pm pacific time and 2nd session is at 5pm pacific time. The first session requires DLC. In the second session we are planning multiple hosts 1 for no DLC and the other DLC

My game of the year to this point was Disneys Magical World which somewhat similar to Fantasy Life on a smaller scale. I found out about a week before Fantasy Life's release That h.a.n.d. the company who made Magical world also worked on Fantasy Life. You can definitely feel their footprint on Fantasy Life which now moves into my 3ds game of the year.

Sweet. The early session is actually better for me! I have the dlc, see you there or whomever. Let me know if I need to add anyone to play.

I have 50 int/vit and almost no strength atm, guess with this type of build is normal to do no damage to newly discovered trees and ores. Just keep upgrading your tools and if possible make your own and use tool upgrade stones to increase the powerof the tool and/or strength gear, food helps too. Use X instead of A if you need more damage (not charged X just the normal X hit).

My only problem with playing with others is how over powered are you compared to me. I'm still using a knife as my main weapon if only because I still haven't done a job that uses otherwise. Its making the game more challenging but I kinda like it that way. I don't want to join up with someone that does most of the work and feel left behind. I enjoyed the 10min fight I had with a Dino the other day. Got a nice Crystal Sword from that fight that I'll hold onto till I can use it. Love this game but till I get to the island I'm not sure I want to play with someone else that's more powered up then me unless I go to their town I guess.

I played with two other people online today. We fought some the huge spirit thing in the lava cave and the dino at the peak, and just ran around killing stuff. They were both almost 10 levels above me, but I was still able to pull my weight, partially because one of them, um, kind of sucks at fighting, haha. We revived her whenever she died, though the monsters we were fighting were so powerful I died a few times to despite my more careful combat. (Gotta be careful when you go down in like 5 hits)

I'm about level 20 now and I've become an adept at both being a Paladin and a Miner! Progress!
