I've never played an Animal Crossing before, but me and my sister are interested in this. Can we both share a game? Are there multiple save files or an alternative to playing completely alone?

Because since there can be up to 4 people making accounts in your town it's easier to see who donated what.

There are 4 save files that can be created. The first one to be created will be mayor.
The next three will be regular players without mayor powers ^^.
So if you both didn't want to be mayor then you could share a cart.

It's if you (or some you know) adds another player to your town.
