As you might recall, TiMi Studios - a subsidiary of Chinese conglomerate Tencent Games, is working with The Pokémon Company on the upcoming release Pokémon Unite for Switch and mobile devices.
As a result of everything going on between these companies at the moment, Tencent currently has 19 "Pokémon-related jobs" that need to be filled. As noted by Niko Partners' senior analyst, Daniel Ahmad, one of the "most interesting" positions is for a Pokémon consultant.
Think you've got what it takes? Well, before you even consider, just make sure you've cleared all of the games, and have at least 900 hours of playtime on record. You'll also need to know the history of hundreds of pocket monsters, have a "Master Ball" ranking and have watched a minimum of 500 episodes of the anime series. You've got all that, right?
Seriously though, it seems like Tencent just wants an individual who will be able to ensure everything makes sense in the context of the world of Pokémon and knows the history of the series inside out.
While we're at it, tell us - have you clocked up more than 900 hours across the Pokémon game series? Have you watched at least 500 episodes of the anime series? Impress us in the comments below.

It’s all a bit Faustian.
Tencent can keep it.
***** Tencent the slimey *****
Pokemon Frenchise sold to Tencend confirmed.
What about 9,000 hours? ☺️
Why do they need outside consultants when they are clearly working with The Pokemon Company?
@Devlind Because The Pokemon Company have clearly shown they know nothing about Pokemon 😉
WOHA No thanks you can keep your TENCENT job I don't want it.
No. I will not be taking a job at Tencent
Well shoot, I only know 499 episodes of the anime from memory
@Devlind
They will make up their own Stuff, because Nintendo has to operate with chinese Companies (forced by chinese Law).
Because they want the Stuff to make conform with the govermental Viewpoints, they need their own Expert that manages to make Pokemon Stuff that is Part of the Canon but doesn't includes stranger Viewpoints.
No democratic Viewpoints, no undead Stuff.
Unmentioned requirement: willingness to wade through endless pages of amateur Pokemon doujinshi while conducting research.
Nah I don't associate with murderers.

tencent bad lets not join them
What happened to iQue? Nintendo's Chinese branch/partner? Shouldn't they be the ones working on Nintendo's products in China?
Also Tencent needs to fall, along with the CCP.
I feel bad for anyone who has to slog their way through the dreadful Pokémon anime.
It doesn’t make sense how China became so “important” and “powerful” in the eyes of the Western countries. It’s not really an economically or militarily advanced nation. Economically it’s still a developing country, its military is still decades behind the West (It only has 2 aircraft carriers with one of the two imported, the West had more than that 80 years ago in WW2). Finally China is not at all popular with most countries especially the West. Yet somehow China seems so important to us. Yeah I get it has a lot of potential customers and they produce a lot of goods but Africa for example as a continent has a lot of people too, their people could become manufacturers and customers and some of their governments are pretty corrupt too like CCP yet they don’t seem nearly as important.
There is literally nothing good or funny or cool about this headline, those under-representing the influence of the CCP on global culture and economics are foolish at best. This company does not belong on the same planet as Pokemon or any other Nintendo-affiliated IP.
Pocket monsters, that's a cruel name to call your pokemon.
Since they're from China shouldn't they be called Sixtyfiveyuan?
My time has finally come lol. Just fyi, Daniel Ahmad added to the story on twitter:
"I just noticed Tencent quietly took the job listing down for this specific role, but the rest are still up.
Maybe too many Pokémon masters applying lol"
I mean, I've gotten almost halfway through Pokemon Omega Ruby, Ultra Sun and Let's Go Eevee, started Sword, and own several Pokemon plushies. Isn't that enough?JJ Abrams has made mega-million-dollar movies in franchises he knew less about.
Can anyone other than Joe Merrick from Serebii apply for this one?
@ZeldaFanboy78 I used (sub) (/sub) in-between the texts. {Make sure to replace ( ) with [ ] however)
This is why the mobile games market is dirty, it's filled with trash whales like tencent pushing their weight around. Nintendo should just leave it for good.
@Don China has always been important. There are plenty of people there, they produce a lot, and much more.
@Menardi Too bad for you. Tencent already distribute Switch on china and their subsidiary will develop a Pokemon game for TPC.
Had it not been Tencent (or any other Chinese company), I would've applied instantly.
Alas, I draw the line at Chinese companies.
@Nemesis666 Bad for you as well, and all video game consumers (and the free world in general). By all means, continue to mindlessly applaud the slow heat death of free society.
@PoorGeno Clearly Racism
@Tourtus
Nintendo has transformed iQue into a software development team responsible for translating and localizing their games into Chinese.
Tencent handles all official Switch hardware distribution in China.
@Riptidre China's government is who's racist. That govenment puts other ethnicities in concentration camps.
@PoorGeno So that is why u left a racist comment? Lol Doing the same thing
looks at play time
Yea.. Those are rookie numbers.😆
@nessisonett We're talking Tencent here, not TPC itself.
Soon tencent will delete these comments or something idk.
That's like the position for the perfect consultant to work on a mainline game. Anybody ever thought of them making the next main game? That'd help Game Freak's schedule if they want to focus more time on a single game, and Tencent is perfect if they ever want to make a China-based region.
