It's not just Animal Crossing: New Horizons that's being treated to a brand new update this week, as new features have also arrived in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.
Two new AR features have made their way into the game, bringing its cast of cute, cuddly characters to life in new ways. There's an AR Camera mode and an AR Cabin mode, which have both been detailed by Nintendo below:
With AR Camera, players will be able to choose a real-world spot and place their favourite Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp pals and furniture within the scene to snap a shot.
With AR Cabin, players are able to enter the same space as their animal pals and spend time with them face-to-face. Players design a Cabin with furniture and amenities of their choice, then invite up to eight different characters they love to join them. They can overlay the Cabin door anywhere in real life, “enter” the Cabin they created and explore inside their AR Cabin.
And there's more, too, as starting from today, you'll find additional areas in your campsites to place furniture and items, giving you more room for personalisation. To celebrate, Nintendo's offering a free month's subscription to the Furniture & Fashion Plan, which normally costs £7.99 / €8.99 per month.
Do you still spend plenty of time enjoying Pocket Camp? Will you be checking out these new AR features? Tell us below.

While Super Mario Run collects dust..
Update looks super cute and cool, but man, they lied to a lot of us Android users who met update requirements and dropped our devices. So sad so many people won't be able to experience this.
"To celebrate, Nintendo's offering a free month's subscription to the Furniture & Fashion Plan, which normally costs £7.99 / €8.99 per month."
Tss... how about making regular mobile games for 1 price?
Oh wait, I have to thank 95% of the world expecting "free" mobile games instead, while the other 5% including me would gladly pay full price for a full game.
Sounds like they added an AR Miitomo to the game.
Was planning on deleting this b/c it's taking up space, haven't played it since ACNH released, but will give it a go.
Not the paid subscription thing, not even for free.
Ugh so THAT's why I can't update Pocket Camp anymore on my device. There's another app that I couldn't update anymore with my device that uses AR camera functionality too, so I wonder if it's related. Frustrating since I was literallly just getting back into it.
@Silo Didn't see your post before commenting. I had the same issue. I had to double check their website for requirements and my device met all of them, but I still can't get the update.
How is this game actually doing? My girlfriend deleted it shortly after downloading and she's a big fan of the series.
@Mew super Mario run is so boring and I hate the fact you have to purchase other worlds. Plus, Apple gift cards won’t work with it! Only credit card!
@Moon It's still releasing new content on a monthly basis with about three new sets monthly. Some of the sets are reskins while others are originals. In general, it's still a money maker for Nintendo.
I would be happier with this update if my phone was still supported by the game.
The AR stuff looks cool, but the big update "cut off the branches" to make it happen. My phone technically met the new requirements, but is still one of the ones not supported by the latest update.
Oh well, I'm not mad. I'm just a li'l disappointed that I can no longer play a game I played daily for well over a year now.
@Silo They didn't lie.
"In certain cases, some devices may not be supported even when they meet the conditions listed above."
We're the "certain cases" there.
I haven't played this game in quite a long time, but Nintendo keeps updating it, so it must be printing some money for them! This update looks pretty neat for the people who still play it.
That's cool if your phone supports it I guess, though I'm glad I stopped playing of my own choice before this kicked me out; trying to use the Pokemon Go AR features causes my phone to freeze, based on the comments here I really doubt this would load at all now. Hey ho, life goes on.
@Kid_Gamer It's a full game. That's why I like it. I just wish they'd give it a bit more content.
How about they stop working on this game, actually work to make better items like the pocket camp version onto the switch please :/...cause we all saw how better the items are on the mobile game itself...like really depressing how they continue to ignore us who are asking for this more then new hairstyles.
Another thing is the new dialogue other things as well.
this reminds me i should redownload PC so i can connect it to NH and get those bonus items
Would be great but I can't play it anymore. Met the requirements, but apperently, my 64 bit CPU has a 32-bit OS... 😭
