The ongoing updates for Mario Tennis Aces on the Switch continue, with Nintendo confirming Pauline will be added to the roster as a playable character this March.
Pauline was last spotted in Super Mario Odyssey as the mayor of New Donk City and before then has featured in the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series on a regular basis. To celebrate the character coming to Mario Tennis Aces, Nintendo has shared a new trailer on its YouTube channel.
On the court, Pauline is the speedy type. To unlock this character early, play the online tournament between the 1st March and 31st March. Or, you can wait until the character becomes available to everyone at the start of April.
In addition to this, the Mario Tennis Aces Japanese website has revealed Kamek and Dry Bones will be added to the roster in April and May. Take a look at both of these characters in the images below:
Will you be taking to the court with Pauline next month? Are you excited about the arrival of Kamek and Dry Bones? Tell us in the comments.

Pauline has to be my favorite Mario Princess! I hope we see more of her in the future!
After a few more updates, this game will finally be worth $60.
She needs to become a regular in all the spinoff titles. And here’s hoping for Wario and Waluigi costumes as bonuses next month, too.
This game is begging for an eShop discount.
She has a donk
Was expecting Power and not Speedy! Must be the legs.
@jtmnm This game was worth my $60, especially after 14 years of me waiting for a good Mario Tennis game since Power Tennis on Game Cube.
@StephenYap3 Happy you were able to find your money's worth, my man.
Honestly I couldn't care less about Mario Tennis, but Pauline is my favorite Mario character since Rosalina and her presence in the game alone is making me more interested in it.
It's really difficult to find online matches nowadays, I just about managed to get the Toad outfit for February.
I wonder if someone will make a "Pauline for Smash" joke.
@Grumblevolcano I get matches all the time in standard mode. But Im a A ranked player, so there's more dedicated players in that range.
She looks sexy.
Why don't they use this game's roster as a celebration of the Mario series? Too many of the characters are generic enemies--what's so great about playing as Dry Bones? They should introduce more retro/niche Mario guys to flesh out the roster. Wart, Tatanga, Wanda, Plum, E. Gadd, Fawful, Lord Crump, Dimentio... perhaps make a certain Smash Bros. dream come true?
@ilikeike LOL She's the main reason I got the game a couple of months ago.
How is Pauline so fast with that bust size?
Does this mean Pauline will start becoming a reoccurring character in future spin off titles?
My question is who is the final character? They said it would keep going to June, and every enemy in the game has now either been released or announced as a playable character.
I kinda love that game, not as much as i loved sega superstars tennis on xbox 360, but it's fun to play .... but .... sadly the game is basically dead in europe.
and nintendo thought, it is good to not allow region free online play because no one plays the game in my aera (central europe - austria), i never find any online match ... i've only payed 40bucks for that game, but i mainly bought it because of the online mode and that's the mode i cannot play hahaha. they should add an option, that i am be able to play against american players. at least eastern region. in rocket leage or other games like warframe or games on xbox, when i choose US East, my ping is around 80~100. not the best, but playable. it's a handy feature to be able to choose a region manually, especially when no one plays that game in your area .... and i've had some friends in arizona. when they have played in US East, their ping was also around 100 hahaha. so should be fine when i play against US West people on US East servers xD but it's nintendo, so i guess it will never happen ...
I want a skin for her with the looks of "Lady". And for her to be playable on a platform game.
By the way, this will mark the first time she's playable.
I was an early adopter of the game, it was kind of shallow in beginning, they've updated it since a few times, haven't played in a while, now might be a good tie to jump back in
@Lando_
Nintendo usually avoid over-sexualising their female characters like this. I find it quite surprising.
Gotta love Mario Tennis! Such a good game!
She's so freaking hot
Think I'll be buying Mario Tennis Aces soon. Strangely enough I want to get this before Smash.
I remember when I used to say "Nintendo just forgot about the original damsel in distress Pauline... wonder if she'll ever come back?" Then she appeared in the Mario vs DK series and Super Mario Odyssey. I love it, she's one of my favorite characters and glad to see her finally get her due.
I love this game but it’s so hard to find a game online now
Its hard to find a online match, what a bummer
Pauline >>> Peach.. Those lips, those thighs, the huge personality she has!
Wow, she's quite curvy for a Nintendo character. I'm impressed. Not impressed enough to get the game, but I like what I see.
@eRaz0r I bought it thinking that it would have more in the single player department, but sadly it doesn't. I've tried online, frankly I've not tried it for months and don't know if it really is dead in Europe, but I don't really like playing online. People there is brutally good since day one and fast and powerful and I don't have connection problems, so I don't understand it.
I won a tournament once, but it was the first one, the beginners one, and after that I got utterly crushed in the first match of the second tournament...
I paid about 40 too for this game. Too much for what it's worth. It should have included more single player content, or give us more reasons to keep playing, namely making most of the characters unlockable instead of giving them to us from the first minute. Or alternate suits. It's a half-baked game, sincerely.
@Moroboshi876 At least it's better than mario tennis ultra smash on wii u hahaha
@eRaz0r That one I never bought. But this time I had to. It looked like a game that I would play a lot, but it's almost doomed to wait for my daughter to grow up a little and then do local multiplayer sessions at home.
Can't help, but laugh at the, "Yeah", like the word is being slightly sang, not said, the cheering band members, and tennis on top a building, which apparently, is the special move animation.
@MBII she’s not real; seeing you salivate over fictional characters makes me question your sanity.
