A new Metroid would be great! But a new IP would be even more tentative!
They should be doing two titles at a time. One for the next year, and another one fot the 2017, before the generation ends...
Whatever happens, a new Metroid should be released as soon as possible!

I bet this game won't be released until the second half of the next year (not to compete with Splatoon). So they will have plenty of time to polish it.
It's not my kind of game definitely, but if it finish turning out good, I may consider getting it, depending on which other titles are being released in the same period of time.

That's good. Nintendo needs some pressure to do things better. And faster.
With the WiiU they are taking too long to deliver the hits. Mario Kart should have arrived much sooner, and the new Zelda should be released this end of the year. Hyrule Warriors, X and Bayonetta will be very good games for sure, but they are not going to sell hardware...

I think they will show X and a release date in the japanese direct, as it will probably be released this spring in those lands (hopefully, that'd mean we would get it by the end of the year), as well as Sonic Boom will be shown in the rest, with its release date for this spring.
And well, apart from DK and MK, I think they should try to get released Bayonetta 2 (as well as its first part) between those games, to fill in the space. And also, being optimistic, I believe Smash Bros will be shown, meaning an earlier release date than expected (probably by June??). They should at least, otherwise they will be giving info and pics about the game for more than a whole year... We will know it all by the time it's out lol. And of course the rest of games from Wii Sports Club, and the physical copies of it and Wii Fit U.
I'd like to see something new, but with all the games announced, I think it's quite unlikely until the E3...

the_beaver commented on Sonic Lost World Sales Reached 640,000 in 2013:

@alwaysasn, just saying, but you know, seeing that a game has got a 63 in Metacritic doesn't encourage one to spend such amount of money... Specially when there are some platform gems around (Mario and Rayman, 93 and 92, respectively), and another one on the way. But well, you are right, I'll give it a try someday, when it gets cheaper, and judge it by myself.

I was interested in this till I read all the reviews. I'm surprised so many people actually bought it.
It may be a third party game, even an exclusive, but we are not stupid enough as to buy crap. As simple as that. They have to try harder if they want us in - It's just my opinion, I love ZombiU, for example; TW101 doesn't appeal to me, not big fan of action games, I'd much prefer another Little King Story.

I'll probably give it a shot, as I've never played any other version before. Don't know if this is my type of game, though.
Anyway, I'm really exited about the racing game they are developing. Hope they will show us some footage soon, now this other project has been announced!

Good year indeed. I'm glad to see so much love for X! A second position (even ahead of Mario Kart) is a good sign. I hope it will sell very well!
I wonder what new surprises we will see through this year. I see it well the way it is, but another blast at the end of the year (perhaps a new Zelda or Metroid?) would be so cool!

I cannot wait for the next Nintendo Direct! I bet they will show everything they have in development so they can gain people's interests. Also a launch date for Mario Kart 8 is a must (my bet is between mid March and mid April).
A price cut to 199 pounds/euros/dollars would be nice too, though

Wow, looks like a good idea! I'll have to follow this one to see how it ends. Let's hope it will eventually be released on WiiU, I think it could be a cool idea to use the gamepad creating the race while seeing how four of your friends are competing each other.
Although I don't know if it should fit better being like an alternative game mode or something... Otherwise every time you play you will need a partner to play with, won't you??

I don't want him to resign! Not yet, that the games are finally starting to come. I like Iwata being the CEO of the company. But there are still many things that must be done in order to achieve what he aims to. Like, for instance, advertising the console (yeah, that could serve), or improving the online infrastructure. Or, say, stop delaying the games so often...
But I like the WiiU. I see a bright future ahead, if the things are done correctly.
With that said, if the situation in 1 year time is as dark as it is now, then we could start considering other possibilities...

I still wonder... What the hell are they waiting for to release physically those supposed to be best-selling: Wii Fit U and Wii Sports Club?? As much as anyone may love the games to be virtually released, it's not until they have been physically released likely to be seen and desired for most people (specially casual gamers, these games' main target).
Start doing the things properly and stop trying so many different things Nintendo, and you will see a huge improvement in sales!

the_beaver commented on 3DS Tops US Hardware Sales as Wii U Achieves "...:

How the WiiU could be selling very well?? I mean, it's just performing well enough, but with the current library nobody should expect much better results... They have only released ONE game in the whole year that could make the charts turn round: Super Mario 3D World (they have released more good games, of course, but nothing one would be willing to buy a new console for). If they had released this last end of the year other games like Mario Kart 8 and Donkey Kong, alongside the new Mario (as many people expected them to do), things would've been way too different, I believe. But they are waiting for the next year to release nearly everything they have (don't ask me why, but they must have their reasons), so as anyone can imagine, no games, no sales.
Let's have some faith, and hope the next christmas will be much better for the WiiU (as well as it happened with the 3DS).
PD: Sorry if there's any mistake, I just woke up.. :S

I think Nintendo is waiting for Mario Kart to be released (which will probably be the moment when the WiiU takes off definitely) to have everything done. Until that moment they are probably just "preparing the land" for what it's to come.
But hey, that doesn't mean I agree with it. I'm a current user and I'd like it to be more complete, I must say... I'm kind of fed up with the "please understand" joke lol

the_beaver commented on A Third-Party "Secret Developer" Gives an Insi...:

I just want to add one point: According to Vgchartz, Call of Duty: Ghost is the best-selling game in Ps4 and XBone, with more than one million sales so far, while the WiiU version (yes, there's a version of the latest COD in WiiU) has only sold around 100.000 units. And NSMBU has sold more than 3 millions.
The consoles have very different audiences. The common third party games don't appeal the majority of public who buy Nintendo consoles. That's a fact... If you buy a WiiU is not because you wanna play most third-party games. There's no excuse, there's no point on saying that COD hasn't sold because you can find it in the last-gen consoles (the same could be said for the PS4 version, for example, and look at it...). It's simply because most people here prefer to play Super Mario or Zelda, rather than the typical shooters or sports games.
That's how we are pals, we shouldn't expect a lot of third support. That's why I think Nintendo is doing great cooperating with them in order to create the games that they know we want and will sell well (see Luigi's Mansion, Smash Bros, Fire Emblem, Hyrule Warriors, etc.)

the_beaver commented on Feature: Nintendo Games We'd Love to See in 2014:

I think there are some series that should stay in handhelds and nobody would complain (Animal Crossing, Pokemon, Kirby, Yoshi,...). WiiU needs more HUGE projects, like X or FE x SMT. And there are some series that would rather be released on WiiU, like Metroid (although a 2D entry would fit in the 3DS), F-Zero, Wave Race/1080 or Starfox. Also a damn new IP would be awesome as well, a harcore-targeted one please.
Therefore, I would see gladly happening a new Metroid (not neccesary a Prime sequel), Starfox, F-Zero, Kid Icarus, and Paper Mario (more like TTYD) entries, and neither in e-shop, if possible.
With this and the new Zelda (TP style, please!), I'd be happy with Nintendo for a long time :)
Btw, as far as 3rd parties are concerned, I'd seriously love to see some sequels in WiiU as well, and it's not totally insane, I guess: The Last Story 2 (this is EXACTLY what the WiiU needs), Little King Story 2, Zombi U 2, and Red Steel 3 (yes, I enjoyed the second part, I see big potential there). If we can dream...
Great list, by the way! Although I can't share some ideas XD, like the Mario's Mansion one, Galaxy HD, or too many e-shop releases...

the_beaver commented on Monolith Soft Lists "Urgent" Job Postings, Inc...:

Being it urgent makes one think that it's indeed for either X or the other project they're developing for the 3DS. I seriously hope that, if it finally means that X will support an online mode, it is just optional, something insignificant, just an add to share items or something like that. I expect something huge from this game (my most anticipated without a doubt) mainly because of it being a sequel from Xenoblade. If they change the basis, it wouldn't probably be the same, and everyone expects the same but much more improved. I'd rather it to be for a different game (the one for 3DS or whatever), but I fear it will be for this one... Let's hope they don't do a Squenix with DQX!

Why don't they just start making physical releases so they can put into their games much more contents?? I don't really understand, if they can't afford it Nintendo should be there supporting this kind of projects (specially since they have made clear they are not currently thinking of making any new F-Zero), shouldn't they??
Anyway, if the game finishes being well worthy, it'd be a day one purchase to me. I'm eager to play another F-Zero-like game!

Oh well, that would be amazing! A 3D DK is definitely what the series needs to evolve. They should try someday.
But with that said, I think the next couple of titles Retro must be thinking of doing should be a next entrance of the Metroid series (not Prime, that miniseries finished already, but as good as this was), and a brand new IP, created by Retro without being controlled too much. I think they deserve it after all they have done... Give them freedom so we can see what they are capable of doing.

Just remember how bad Xenoblade looked when it was announced at the 2009's E3. Even in that case it hadn't the definite name. And see how it finished... Now I hope Shin'en is working hard in this one, I've never bought a game from these guys, but this could perfectly be the first one, as I've been waiting for a new F-Zero like game for a long time.
But I also hope Nintendo to see the interest the players have on this kind of game and create a new one, cause I really doubt this game will have the same quality the GX had...

Don't worry, there are many games coming this year that have always sold really really well. I'm sure they will boost the system like a rocket.
Which games, you may ask? Not few! Zelda, Donkey Kong, Super Mario, Sonic, Mario & Sonic, Wii Party, Wii Sports, and Wii Fit. 8 games! 8 games that have always sold like hot cakes are all coming out this year. And not in a long time from now, Mario Kart will be released, one of the best system-sellers ever. I'm sure WiiU will be fine...

I hope they will make a Metroid (an impressive one), a F-Zero and a Stafox eventually for WiiU. I seriously hope, would be nonsense not to do it.
And concerning the next Metroid, I'd like it to follow the Other M style, but fixing some camera angles, giving it more depth, making it longer, and adding some stuff from the Prime series (like the scanner, I totally missed it!). I don't mind if it's Retro or another one, but just make it happen Nintendo! As soon as possible.

the_beaver commented on Bethesda: The Time For Convincing Publishers A...:

I'd rather Nintendo get some exclusive games from thirds parties (like Bayonetta 2, Sonic Lost Worlds, and many more I hope will come) than get multiplatform titles that are exactly the same in every console, and you can get in either of the other two. Nintendo needs to differentiate from the competition in terms of games, as they are doing creating different consoles. If the own and always amazing IPs are combined with exclusive and attractive third games (more JRPGs would be great!), the WiiU would become a console everyone would like to own, along with any of the others. I think it's the smartest way to behave if they want to be successful, as they cannot compete technically in this race..

Same will happen with Sonic Lost World and Watchdogs, I'm sure of that. We may have Pikmin already, and Zelda, Mario and DK on the horizon, but we are still hungry of new kind of attractive experiences from thirds. And this is a proof of that. If they make a good and appealing game to us, we will buy it. As simple as that.
The Wonderful 101 is not selling very well, that's true, but rather due to the lack of "visibility". It must be said that the game hasn't made much noise, and specially being a new IP, they cannot expect getting tons of sales... For me it's not really attractive, but I still have to try the demo. Looks too weird.

I'll get Zelda eventually, when I find it cheap, as I played it before and doesn't include many new stuff. My preference there is DKCTF cause I know that for sure will be outstanding, like every game Retro makes. Also I haven't got Pikmin yet, and it's a must for these new months. But I'm really interested in how will finish being Mario, Sonic, Watchdogs, and Shovel Knight as well; they all look good, but who knows. the_beaver commented on Wii U Name Isn't To Blame For Poor Sales, Says...:

Well, the Gamecube had a totally different name, it was a clearly different console from its predecessor, and what did they get?? Around 20 millions sales...
I think it's not just about make the console different. They will launch ads, of course they will, once there is an interesting bunch of games out, titles that are likely to attract every consumer, like Mario, DK, Zelda, Sonic, Wii Fit and Wii Party, apart from others already released that are bound to be "re-released", like Lego City or New Super Mario U. There is no point on start creating marketing if the console doesn't offer so far a big difference, and from a gamer point of view, it's now starting to feel different, to be attractive, everybody knows that. Nintendoland didn't work, I think they are aware of that, so they might be waiting for the big hits to be released until they start making great efforts advertising the console.
But they will, there is no doubt of it. And hopefully the price cut and the new bundles (one with Super Mario 3D World would be winning!), along with a stronger marketing, will create awareness in the non-gamer people, and increase sales considerably this holiday season, although I still think that the biggest momentum will come with Mario Kart next Spring, when the WiiU will definitely take off.
