One of the bigger surprises during the recent Nintendo Direct was Capcom Beat' Em Up Bundle. Featuring a selection of the most famous side-scrolling fighters from the company, this scrumptious looking bundle will be available from the eShop tomorrow, but Japanese fans can get their hands on a ridiculous amount of extras, too.
They'll have to wait slightly - as the game actually launches in Japan on 6th December - but we're sure the wait will be worth it. As well as the standalone physical release, Japanese buyers can pick up a 'Collectors Box', an 'e-Capcom Limited Box', or an 'e-Capcom Limited Complete Box', all featuring more goodies than you can waggle a Joy-Con at.
Priced at ¥3,300, ¥5,800, ¥11,300, and ¥13,800 respectively, these bundles act like tiers, with more and more stuff being added for each one. There are posters, reissues of instruction cards from classic cabinets, 5 CDs, a 64-page artbook, sticker sheets, and even a small manga magazine. You can see the largest and smallest bundles below.
If you want to check them out for yourself, you can find all of these bundles on Capcom's official site. We take no responsibility for you accidentally going on an import spending spree as result!
Will you be grabbing a copy of the game from the eShop tomorrow? Share your excitement with us down below.

F**k. Someone hide my wallet from me. I really want the $60 tier, but I swore after I preorder Diablo 3 and Civ 6, I was gonna chill till after Xmas on stuff for myself.
Oh of course, of course, Japan...cool stuff, extra special editions...ah well
Just the simple physical copy would be enough for me.
Love that art cover and these games are amazing, shame they couldn't add Cadillac and Dinosaurs...I reckon that might be due to IP ownership issues.
Finally!
@PhilKenSebben they are e-capcom exclusive and they only ship to japan
@manu0 it's up on Nin Nin games website but I wouldn't trust them with a bucket of water if I was on fire! I've luckily managed to secure the complete box from a contact in Japan.
I figured this out yesterday with a quick search of a favorite import site. Will wait and buy it this way as I can't support the US market being screwed into digital only.
Oh and they had Okami HD on physical too for $35.
This is not some e-capcom exclusive in either case, check your favorite importer.
I'd settle for a standard physical release, but no news about it yet here in the West?
@Moroboshi876 Digital only in US, out this week.
@tanookisuit I was talking about a retail version. No news about it yet on the West. I'm from Europe by the way. I hate when Capcom does that: digital only but in some territories.
I'm really tired of Capcom's tepid release policies for Europe. Is a simple physical release really that much to ask for? I mean, even some indies take the risk of releasing their games on physical format, but Capcom won't bother, even for popular franchises like Ace Attorney or Resident Evil.
I'll probably get this bundle from the eShop anyway, just because these games are such a fundamental building block of my gaming history. But other than that, Capcom won't get any money from me as long as they keep treating us like third class customers.
I’ll be finding a way to import this for sure. I was going to be digitally but will go for this instead.
The two bottom tiers are available through Amazon Japan (just like Rockman 11). I got myself the one with all the cards and posters because the posters look rad.
@Moroboshi876 Fair enough, I guess I should have just said outside of Asian markets. They pull this crap consistently. Capcom is the worst and best when it comes to Nintendo it makes you wonder how to even handle them. They're like this evil glove of sorts. One one side they can rub your cheek nicely baiting you in with a good game or two without any bs. Then they can turn back a moment, then full force give you the back of that hand across the face with their cut up cheap out releases (MML, RER, etc) or not release physically outside of the motherland for them, or they just don't bother at all (monster hunter scandal a year back.)
They just suck, yet they don't, as it's a known they had a hand in the Switch in giving Nintendo ideas where to go like adding more base system memory, and other things. Same can be said on 3DS, they're why there is the circle pad and eventually the beefier bits and circle stick on the New model. it's like they want Nintendo to make hardware as they like it, then get all wishy washy on game support. It makes them entirely untrustworthy but too hard to dismiss.
That top tier is pretty cool, but I’ll be playing this gem tomorrow, digitally, and this could end up being the game/collection I play most on Switch.
so much retro goodness not just this but psikyo, snk & namco collections in physical form! woot woot!!
@tanookisuit I've never imported before, wouldn't mind checking out your favourite import site, can you let me know it's name?
I reckon my local game shop here in Thailand will have these special editions, they usually do. I won't be buying one though, I've already got the digital version preloaded. Cannot wait to fire up Final Fight, I haven't played it since the Mega CD. Something like 23 years ago!
Downloading this game as soon as I can tomorrow.
@tanookisuit "it's a known they had a hand in the Switch in giving Nintendo ideas where to go like adding more base system memory, and other things"
They did? If so, what for? It's not like they have released anything particularly taxing for the system. An upscaled PS2 game, two upscaled 3DS games, the Nth remaster of a 27 year old game... Their most hardware-intensive release for Switch may be RE Revelations 2, and even that game wasn't particularly demanding for last generation consoles.
Digital only is enough for me. Most of the time I regretted paying for these usless collectors editions.
What a bundle!! But I have gone digital for this and would do everytime for easy access.
Wish this was also coming to North America as well just wish they added more beat Em Ups too like The Punisher & others too
I'll seriously consider the retail release from Amazon Japan. But second tier comes with those... posters? for almost 20 more euros. A little too much.
These are great editions!! Nothing better for fans than to have that big bunch of options to make their choice. Of course, JP editions... But I'll go digital. The $20 price seems great to me!!
@OorWullie it would be bonus if this game has the Mega CD audio tracks for Final Fight
Just the budget physical version for me. I've got so many other games to purchase that I have to be selective about which collector editions to go after.
Play Asia have this up to pre-order at £26 for the basic edition.
@OldMcGroin Try yesasia. They do free shipping globally over a pretty low price on the item. I got I Am Setsuna from them as it came out in their market for the same price as the US digital price.
They list the Capcom game coming out physically (the brawler bundle) in October, and they have Okami HD for $35 which ships free.
@Kochambra I don't care if they do remasters or not if the game is good, but as far as it goes yes they've not done much taxing on the Switch. RER for the 3DS though and other efforts there were more so. I'm just saying they were in bed in hardware decisions, that's it. It just hits me strange they ask for stuff, then do as they've done.
@Kochambra : Capcom aren't even releasing the Switch version of Mega Man 11 at retail in Australia, which is absolutely infuriating.
In fact, the only physical Capcom releases here so far are the two Street Fighter releases and Monster Hunter. We got shafted in every other respect (though I did import Okami, Mega Man X 1 & 2, and Resident Evil Revelations 1 [the standalone version from Japan]).
Absolutely infuriating. I don't want to support them at all, but I foolishly have... repeatedly, and they sure as hell don't deserve our business. This is ridiculous.
I'll never understand how a country famed for cramped living space and lack of storage seems to have a bigger obsession with storing all kinds of trinkets in large boxes than Americans. I swear Japan invented the Bag of Holding and told no one.
(Yes, I'm totally jelly.)
capcom have been really stingy with physical releases in the west recently and it's a shame.
Not digital but i would LOVE a physical copy like one of these!
Though physical would be pretty sweet I'm not going to get too worried about not getting it since the original cartridges would be even better (not all have those even). I was pretty excited to see this in the direct as I love that genre.
@Gowtu_Games Google yesasia, they're an importer to the US, they will have it soon physical.
Can't wait to play this tomorrow!!!
America please!! Even if it’s just one retail option!
@BionicDodo I hope 356games sells it too. It's based on the UK and you avoid customs, which kill the purpose of buying on Play Asia.
I really want the big Switch bunduru!
I think ill go with the eshop version. Oh is it out tomorrow? well hot damn!
I'm a sucker for old school beat em' ups, so this will be an instant digital purchase for me. Can't wait to play the arcade Final Fight with the full amount of enemies and action on the screen!
@meppi64 You can only have the exclusive Japense bunduru if you have the prerequisite Magical Japanese Princess that goes with it!
@dleec8
Curses!
D:
Aaaaaand the top tier is sold out already.
Looks like I'm about to get thoroughly screwed with my pants on by an eBay scalper...
Grumble.
Already purchased the download version and given the choice of a physical release I would still have chosen the download
@Steevil I'm at the point where these types of releases just feel abusive towards fans, more so than celebratory. I looked at the ultimate whatever box there, and with tens shipping and who knows what else, probably over $175 for a game I'll buy tomorrow and not have to worry about clutter for $20.
It's just a weird practice, as we drive closer to largely digital future, that company's then in turn produce entirely unnecessary special editions at exorbitant prices, and then hard-core fans need to go through so many hoops just to buy it.
My patience with all of this is coming to an end....
I'm still sceptical of the fully digital future, but I'm not normally suckered into special editions.
Capcom beat em ups hold a special place in my heart though...and I've loved them ever since nagging my mum for 20p for just one go if we ever saw an arcade machine. I recently bought myself an arcade machine (...sold a kidney...) just so I could recapture that feeling, the only games I play are the capcom games.
As much as Capcom doesn't seem to care about their UK fans, I just can't pass up the special edition in this case...some of these games I lusted after in my youth. The collectors edition is already appearing on eBAY for more than £200.
Sigh.
@tanookisuit cool, thanks!
@Steevil Is there a messaging system on this site? I've got a few prospects for you.
What is going on!?!

@manu0 available worldwide from lots of sources.
Even If I'm not interested at all by the compilation, Capcom did the minimum of the minimum with it.
No graphics filters like TV-CRT, Arcade, Scanlines etc... Nothing.
Basically, Capcom sells an emulator wih roms with less options than Mame, FBA, Kawaks etc...
Man there goes the mortgage.....
That's 4 more than everywhere else.
