Pokémon Quest only launched a couple of days ago, becoming instantly available to download after the Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! reveal. As it turns out, people are definitely craving Pokémon action on their Switch.
It has been reported that the game has already been downloaded over one million times, just two days after its surprise launch. Pokémon Quest has already received a rather generous supply of promotion to help this become a reality, as you might expect, and a whole line of Quest-related merch is set to appear at Japanese Pokémon Centres tomorrow. Our favourite of the bunch? These adorable little cube plushes.
If you want to know a little more about Pokémon Quest, and whether or not the game is for you, make sure to check out our review. Of course, the game is free to download so it shouldn't hurt to give it a go if you're intrigued.

I think it’s quite good actually haven’t put a lot of time in yet but so far it’s decent
Pokemon + free-to-start = downloads galore
Probably would have been even more if they announced it 3 months in advance and spent some time promoting it. I know that isn't how mobile app games work, just saying where else have you seen this game talked about besides NL? Everybody is talking about Let's Go, not this. It's amazing 1 million people even know it exists.
This could get 50 million downloads on mobile next month if it hits all the major territories on both iOS and Android.
They got 2 from me and will get 2 more when it releases on mobile. I have no interest in playing it at all but this is going to blow up big time once it hits tablets and phones. Nintendo is going to make a silly amount of money this fiscal year!
Too bad it’s boring as sin.
Anyone complaining about the Let's Go games being "too casual" just because wild battles are out need to "play" this for a sitting.
You are actually watching the game play itself. I guess the main draw is supposed to be building your team but I'm hardly finding that aspect interesting enough to make up for the automated battles. I'd get more meat out of just watching a Pokemon movie or episode since those would at least provide a plot.
Regardless, I'll keep it just as a five minute Pokefix every now and then.
I'm more surprised it wasn't higher than that honestly, especially since it's free.
Pokemon Quest is very well made.
I don't get the hate, I love this little game and is free. Also, I want that blocky Magikarp plushie.
Cube Electrode plushie ftw
It's a nice spinoff game. Boiling down the basics the Pokemon series is known for, collecting and leveling Pokemon for increasingly more difficult battles. It should do well with the mobile gamers looking for an alternative to Pokemon Go.
I hope they keep at it with the free-to-start games. It's only free by technicality, but it's a good way to maintain interest from people, and keep getting it downloaded. Stretchmo did this best, basically offering a short demo and than other parts of the game for sale, or a bundle at a discounted price.
Ideally, I'd want a game that did that on Switch, but with a more substantial free part to improve impressions. it would at least appeal more to gamers, since there isn't any waiting period.
I know the game is F2P and is Pokemon-related, but these are some seriously impressive numbers. 1 million downloads in 1 day for an obvious spin-off with virtually no hype or rumors hinting at this game's existence prior to that big Pokemon event is way more than I expected.
I believe this title has achieved 1 million downloads far faster than other F2P Pokemon spin-offs (Picross, Shuffle, Rumble World) that aren't mobile titles.
I think the game is decent so long as it’s not the only thing you’re doing. For instance, I set the battle to Auto and sent out my critters while watching Rambo. Wonderous combination 👌
Not surprising considering the fact that it is a free game with Pokemon in the title. I mean I downloaded it just for those two reasons. That said I am probably just going to delete it as I played the game for a while and found it to be way too lacking in actual gameplay to be worth my time.
