Latest Pokémon GO Update Brings Catch Bonus, Updated Gym Training And Other Fixes

Rolling out on Android and iOS now

Pokémon GO has been updated to version 0.41.2 on Android and 1.11.2 on iOS.

This update includes the recently-announced Catch Bonus and Gym Training updates, as well as several other fixes and improvements elsewhere in the game.

Here's the full change log:

Catch Bonus: Trainers can earn a catch bonus for a Pokémon type as they catch more of a specific type.
Updated Gym Training: Trainers can now bring six Pokémon to battle at friendly Gyms. The CP of the Pokémon you are battling may be temporarily adjusted lower for your training session.
Egg & Incubator Screens: These will periodically update the distance walked without the Trainer needing to close and reopen the screen.
Fixed several audio issues.
Decreased the evolution animation time.
Minor fixes

"Decreased the evolution animation time." - Does this mean that you can evolve more 'mon during pidgey cultivating now... Annoyingly I'm currently out of lucky eggs...

Great additions but....but can we get some tracking back?

No-one seems to have mentioned it yet (probably because of the lack of trackers), but it looks like they shuffled the nests again when they blocked the trackers.

I've been to one of my local nests which was a Bulbasaur nest a couple of times since then and it seems to have become a Poliwag nest (rubbish as we have a big river running through town where they frequently spawn already)... fortunately I'd already caught around 30 Bulbasaur over the previous week and a half, so I already had enough to evolve into Venusaur.

@Charlosa finally yes! I think i got maybe 45k exp in the lucky egg time frame.

@MegaMari0 I'd managed to get my pidgey cultivation down to a fine enough art to get 1 almost every 30 seconds - so approx. 60k xp, but it sounds like I might be able to eek out a bit more, depending on how much shorter the animation is...

Now the evolution animation is actually shorter than the Lord of the Ring trilogy. I think it's a good choice.

@Charlosa Just doing Pidgey is a waste... I find it better to just wait until my storage (upgraded to 450) is full (transferring excess Pokemon as I go), and then evolving whatever I have ready to go... usually includes one or two new Pokedex additions, so I double the bonus from that as well (currently got three ready for my next batch of evolutions, and nearly a fourth)... problem is I tend to run out of time on the lucky egg, so not all of them get the bonus... not too much of a problem though, as I've already reached level 28 through this approach, but I am glad to get the speed up.

....Still no Gen II.....or a better way to earn candy for certain Pokes...sighs

No update on my side yet.

I am happy about the update since now I don't have to be the only one in my group to train up a gym successfully and fast(ish) and less time wasted at work catching water Pokemon (hopefully)
