If you head along to almost any major gaming or pop-culture expo you'll likely see plenty of cosplay, whether it's the efforts of keen fans or those entering official competitions. Faithfully recreating the look of favourite characters is more than a fun diversion for some, of course, but rather a way of life.
At the top level cosplay is expensive and time-consuming, but for those involved it can also be hugely rewarding. The effort on show can be truly admirable.

I'd like to make a costume of Chrom. Or maybe Eren Yaeger! Both pretty overdone, but it would still be fun! I do look a pretty good bit like Eren. And my brother has a 3D printer, so props will be a good bit easier too...

Women can typically pull Link off better I've noticed. Link (being anime-ish) has very feminine features, that your everyday guy does not have.
Not saying its impossible, just harder.

I'll give you that. But again, it's not very often that you find a male Link cosplayer that looks halfway decent. I agree with you that some male Link cosplayers look great! But the best ones are also Asian, and Asian men typically have more feminine faces then Caucasian guys do.
Whether you are male or female, Asian or Caucasian, you simply must have more feminine facial features in order to make a REALLY good Link cosplay.

Anyway, these are all VERY good, with the somewhat exception of Lord Girahim - he JUST does not look right with normal-looking skin!
