Pokemon Link

The Pokémon Company International has confirmed that the Pokémon Global Link (an online multiplayer feature that is used to provide players with services including battling and trading) will be undergoing maintenance next month.

Now hold your Ponyta, this will only take place from November 13th to the 21st in order to accommodate the new features that Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire have to offer. These include the ability to share the player’s Secret Base and Pokémon Contest photos, as well as two new leagues: XY and ORAS. In the XY league, players can battle using Pokémon X & Y and can utilise any Pokémon obtained within those games or via the use of the Poké Transporter. In the ORAS league, players are limited to using Pokémon acquired within ORAS, unless they’ve been gifted from Pokémon X or Y. More recently announced features included in Pokémon ORAS can be found here.

So with that said, if you’re looking to use the Global Link service between November 13th and 21st, you’ll be unable to do so. Use this time to breed and train-up the perfect little critters and get ahead of the competition — or just enjoy the main adventure for a change.
