During the latest Chotto Nintendo Direct Satoru Iwata revealed some new footage as well as a release date for Dillon's Rolling Western: The Last Ranger.
The downloadable game stars an armadillo ranger called Dillon and is the sequel to last year's Dillon's Rolling Western. It's set to feature the same style of gameplay as its predecessor in that it's a strategic action tower defence game that has you deploy all sorts of traps and weaponry around the map in order to stop your foes from progressing. Of course, you'll still be able to roll around causing havoc as Dillon.
Dillon's Rolling Western: The Last Ranger will be released into the Japanese 3DS eShop on 10th April. It has no concrete date in the West, but when the title was revealed during a Nintendo Direct in February it was said the game would be with us in April.
Freakyforms Deluxe: Your Creations, Alive! will also be in the Japanese eShop on 10th April.
The Chotto Direct also showed off some new AR pre-paid cards, which sadly are only down for a Japanese release at this stage. Dillon's Rolling Western: The Last Ranger will be 2,000 Yen so we imagine that Mario pre-paid card will be very popular.
The full Chotto Direct is below for anyone who wants to watch the presentation.

Dang. I didn't even finish the 1st one, and NOW their having a sequel? I better finish it up sooner or later. And I really wish it get's a higher score than the original.
@Big-Daddy I haven't neither, I'm not ready for the sequel yet.
I believe it has a date of the 11th in the eshop. Doesn't have a price as of a couple days ago yet.
"It has no concrete date in the West,..." According to the NA Nintendo Direct the date is the 11th. Anyway, super excited about this one! One of very few games these days that really ramps up the difficulty! Very stressful. I'll pick it up along with Escape Vektor on sale.
Th sequel looks even better than the original. I'll definitely be picking this up once I get the chance.
Why has the eShop adopted a habit of producing sequels to successful games that are pretty much identical to their predecessors? Fallbox, Freaky Forms Deluxe, Picross e2, and now this. I've got Dillon's Rolling Western, Freakyforms, Pullbox and Picross e, but I'm not going to pay for a cheap reselling of those games again...granted this one looks like it adds more than the others, but the original game was long enough as it is.
I loved the 1st game, I am sure that the second will also be very good!
Never even finished the first game. I won't get it anytime soon.
I'm hoping they have a sale on the original game when this one comes out. I never bothered to pick it up, as it got very mixed reviews and I just couldn't bring myself to spend ten dollars on it. Also, to repeat what a couple others have said, I thought we've known for awhile now that the release date in America is the 11th....
Edit: "...when the title was revealed during a Nintendo Direct in February it was said the game would be with us in April." It also says in that very article "...11th April in North America."
Mysterious Squid Assassin.
I liked the first one quite a bit, so I'm pretty sure I'll get this one.
The first one was waaaaay too stressful for my little old heart to handle, I will only purchase the second if they include an easy mode (I'm almost certain that the first one didn't have an easy mode).
I always liked the concept of the first Dillon's Rolling Western, though I haven't yet gotten around to purchasing it. If this one turns out to be better than the previous game I will likely get this one instead.
It would be nice if they added an easy difficulty for some players, but I'd still go with the original difficulty. I actually didn't have big problems with the original's difficulty except when I was stuck on the second village. After that I didn't have too much trouble. Also wouldn't mind a buttons only control scheme.
