Egads! Tetrominos!
Tetris and handhelds go together like apples and cinnamon, and no more clear has this symbiotic relationship been than on Nintendo hardware, from the time Tetris first dropped like a well-placed I-block into Game Boys everywhere. Tetris DX followed with a splash of colour and tighter play on Game Boy Color, and the...

Soapbox My Love Affair With Tetris, Probably The Best Video Game Ever Created
More than 30 years of block-dropping fun
Like millions of players all over the world, my relationship with Tetris began with the Game Boy. Alexey Pajitnov's famous puzzler may have begun its life on computers in 1984, but it would find a whole new level of fame thanks to the fact that it was bundled with Nintendo's million-selling monochrome...
News Two Tetris Titles Pulled From the 3DS eShop in North America
Just like in Europe, but without the warning
In late November Nintendo posted a notification on the 3DS eShop to advise that the Game Boy Virtual Console version of Tetris and the retail game of the same name would be withdrawn at the end of 2014. No reason was given, but we'd bet it's down to licensing rights, as this coincidentally happened...
News Two Tetris Downloads to be Removed from the 3DS eShop in Europe
Blocks dropped
Occasionally we see some enjoyable titles disappear from Nintendo's download stores, often retro titles and likely the result of a licensing issue. We're a little surprised by the latest victims, however, which are set to disappear from the European 3DS eShop after 31st December. Following that date the store will lose the Game Boy...
Nintendo Download 18th April 2013 (North America)
LEGO on the go, discounts, Harvest Moon, puzzles galore and more
It's Thursday, so that means it's Nintendo Download time. This week brings us a rather lengthy list of options for both 3DS and DSi, with both Wii U and Wii missing out. There really is a lot to get through, so let's get on with it. 3DS eShop: Super Little Acorns 3D Turbo (Pixel...

In exactly one month you European 3DS owners will be able to get Tetris for your 3DS, as Nintendo announces a release date of 21st October 2011. The game is known as Tetris Axis in North America, but in Europe Nintendo is going with the less is more approach to naming. It'll still have the same single player and online...
News Tetris Axis Lines Up 8 Player Online Modes
Friends not included
With the announcement that Nintendo had picked up publishing duties for Tetris Axis came a fact sheet proclaiming two to six player online play. Great news indeed. Fast forward a few weeks and Nintendo has updated the fact sheet with one minor change: online multiplayer will now support up to eight players for maximum...
News Tetris: Axis Swings By 3DS on 2nd October
Form a line
Remember your first time playing Tetris on Game Boy? You know what would make that experience even better? 3D. Nintendo has just announced that Tetris: Axis will see release in North America on 2nd October, bringing with it 8-player Download Play, Augmented Reality and SpotPass features too. In fact, there are over 20 gameplay modes,...
News Discover What Play Modes Await in Tetris for 3DS
Enough content to host a block party
It's a little bit of a shame that the upcoming Tetris game for the 3DS didn't make it in time for the handheld's launch as the original Tetris did for the chunkier-than-chunky Game Boy all those years ago. If it's any consolation, we can take solace in the fact that at least it will make it to retail by the end...
