Did we mention that RCR is set to make its debut on WiiWare?

RCR could well make it to other platforms somewhere down the line and, in the grand tradition of gaming cash-ins, more tales from Theftropolis are already on his overactive mind. “I definitely want to do sequels,” he says. “I have tons of ideas. If it sells, well, hopefully I’ll get to do them.” And if a sequel can achieve the same balance of silliness and scope, retrospect and revision, we hope so too.
Well, I guess that one article in Edge Magazine was wrong. This game is coming out in summer of 2011 on Xbox Live Arcade, but Wiiware gets in it Fall 2011.
Come Autumn can we expect to hear a "soory [sic], we can't make it fit WiiWare specifications."
Another retro feel game that owes it's style to the NES skips (at least temporarily) the Nintendo console. Does Microsoft have another one of those "timed exclusives"?
Seems like Microsoft saw this WiiWare game, liked it a lot, and decided to throw some money around to get it as a Summer of Arcade title. And Summer of Arcade titles have to be exclusive for awhile.
So there you. Microsoft and the guy developing this just delayed the WiiWare version.
While it is disappointing, I don't blame him. WiiWare sales have apparently been low, and like Brian said: "in order to continue making these games and not have to start flipping burgers after Retro City Rampage is done, it needed to be multi-platform.". I'm still sticking with my original plan though, I'm going to buy the WiiWare version no matter how long I have to wait. I didn't get the 360 for retro games, that's what the Wii is for. For me, playing on a Nintendo console is the best option because it's a NES styled game, and the controller will be better for that type of game. The only games I play on my Xbox are mostly the realistic ones, unless I'm forced to buy a retro game on it because it's an HD console exclusive.
Yeah, I'm a Nintendo fanboy obviously, so the I'm getting the game on Wii! Playing the game on the same console I played Dead Space, Doom 3, and many other realistic games is not as good as playing it on the same console I play Mario games on.
Alright, I agree its hard to self-fund a project like this and you pretty much need all the money you can get. I could even take it that this game would have eventually become a multiplatform. But delaying it, making the "other" port come early and give it extras is not a proper way to say "We've done everything possible to avoid disappointing Wii fans".
I was really looking forward to this. Knowing that this is now an inferior version, Im not so sure anymore.
Meat Boy and CommanderVideo will have their own minigames in RCR (the latter being RUNNER-inspired), and you can unlock both characters to play as by collecting things in them. Guess who's getting this game on day one?

Me as well. I'm now soooo excited for this game. Hard to choose which platform to get it for, lol. As of now I can choose between Steam and WiiWare, but I may be getting a Sony system in the semi-near future so I might hold out for that. I'll have to ask the developer if my Onlive controller will work with it.
