Try The Conduit, Call of Duty WaW, Red Steel and Medal of Honor and tell me if you think those games are "flat" looking - or - if Yoshi's Story looks graphically better than them.

Which ones of those are made by Nintendo ? thanks

If the games are looking flat, it might because TV screens are flat. Food for thought.

Come on, friends,
To the bear arcades again.

I don't see your logic at all, mr. limbo. How is yoshi's story better looking than all of those wii games you mentioned??

Is this a joke? All Wii games' graphics are better then Yoshi's Story's graphics.

Yoshi Story's graphics weren't that good. I liked Ocarina of Time's alot better. Any N64 game on VC looks alot better than Yoshi Story. Even Paper Mario's.

Well theres really no logic involved and its really no big deal , i was just shocked at how good this 12 year old game looked in comparison to its modern contemporaries.

I thought you meant Wii games in general.

So you mean to tell me that Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, Super Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess all look flat and are graphically inferior to Yoshi's Story for N64?

Yoshi Story has a cool art style, I'll give you that. But let's be realistic here.

Many years ago isometrics were a big deal, and therefore were heavily emphasized. Paper Mario has areas that pan three-dimensionally whereas TYD is mostly a sideview. Nowadays, isometrics are so common that the new thing is to make games look realistic, not isometric.

Spatial awareness would be nice, tho. Isometrics have gotten so complex that direction is sometimes not made obvious (e.g. Hyrule Field).
