I'm getting my little sister the wii mini this Christmas, I would love to get her the original but everywhere I go it is sold out. I've heard that the wii mini doesn't have a good video quality. I was just wondering if I could use a HDMI converter on the Wii Mini, I don't really know, I just heard it on the computer.

Even if you can convert the composite signal to HDMI, it's still going to look way worse than a Wii with genuine component output. Maybe get her a used Wii on kijiji or some place instead if you can't find a new one.

HDMI? From what I hear you can't even use component cable on Wii Mini. You're stuck to 480i with that model. Wii Mini is a far inferior product to the original Wii model, and yes with the average size of our televisions nowadays, a difference between 480i and 480p is very noticeable.
I don't recommend Wii Mini to anyone, try to find a "Family Edition" model or otherwise consider investing in the next generation Wii U.

Everytime I try looking for a used wii, it costs more than what the original wii is supposed to sell like $160 or 200.
