Because the original gameboy only had 4 shades of monochrome graphics?
For the same reason Zelda isn't a racing game.

I don't get the question. Why should Pokemon be a platformer when its already a very well-done RPG?

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
Because you can't jump in the games.
Flipnote Code: Right, Down, A, Up,B, Right, Left, X
Because it's an RPG and not a 3D platformer.
Pokemon can be whatever Nintendo want it to be, even a racing game (Pokemon Dash anyone?) and soon even a melee game, a Pokemon 3D platformer is not such an impossible idea, why hasn't Nintendo think about it? who knows, but I'd buy it in a zap.

It's already an RPG, and that's what it's meant to be. Sure, they may make a 3d platformer in the future, but I don't think it would be as good as games in the main series.
If RARE made a 3D platformer Pokémon game on the DS, I'd buy it in a second.
