Topic: Weeping over Wii

I just got the new Black Wii from the competition and discovered from previous forum results that the Virtual Console games can't be transferred. So I'm selling this White Wii to my sister-in-law with all the games pre-loaded and now deleting my previous save files aka Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, Umbrella Chronicles, Raving Rabbids (completed 1,2, and TV Party), Mario Party 8, and De Blob (with almost all of the achievements unlocked)....cries a bit more

continues weeping Radiant Dawn...nooo...Galaxy fully completed, no....and same for Lego Star Wars, Batman, and Indiana Jones...

Don't you have an SD card for the save files?

why are you deleting your save files for your Wii games? you should be able to copy those no problem so long as you've played the game and generated a new save file on your wii (copy the old save-files to SD and then back to your new Wii over the new empty ones).

Smash Bros save isn't transferrable. And yes, I have an SD Card. I'm just deleting them all since the new Wii hasn't even been set up yet (due to moving house this week, yes the week of Christmas). And my sister-in-law wants to buy it Tuesday...

Why don't you give her the Black one? Then you can keep your data and downloads.

You can transfer save files from games that don't have internet capabilities to your new Wii........but unfortunately you can't transfer your games

My wife wants the black one for two reasons, one, she's a woman and two, it "matches" our tv and dvd player colour.

Edit: Women seem to be colour coordinated and if it doesn't match, it doesn't stay...hence the flooring matching the kitchen table in our new house.....

seriously, screw that, i'd just keep the white wii and sell her the black one. is it really worth losing all your WW/VC games and all of your save files? D:

edit: i fail to see how being a woman would automatically make her want a black wii. did i miss something there?

To be honest, I'm not all that upset. It gives me a reason to replay Galaxy and Twilight Princess again.

Black Dragon man, actually, my wife is the one who's already perpetrated the deal...according to her, we'll make out ahead and be able to rebuy the games we really want...which means I'm losing these :

wtf most of those are damn good games. did the deal at least cover the price of all the points you paid to purchase those? because that's a lot of points to lose in the name of 'rebuying the games you really want' or whatev'.

To be honest, I think I'm just gonna get back Super Probector, Super Mario RPG, and Secret of Mana. I'm gutted that most will be gone but at least I finished 90% of them before givin' up the old Wii for the new one. I didn't finish Secret of Mana but I will this time on the new one. And she's gonna hate me for this, but the first game I'm buying when I get that money in hand is New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

And you know what adds insult to injury? When you look at the envelope that tells you what you did today...and if you click on the 2nd button (create message) it gives you the Wii console number. If only Nintendo would develope some technology where I can transfer that number to a new console, I'd be set.

That is one big ass list of games. That sucks. I would just buy a case mod for the white one and keep it.

That'd void the warranty right? It's not a big deal. I'll just have to get the games that I really really really wanna get again. And over time, I will re-aquire the games on the list and hopefully more great games will come out between now and then. Hopeful for Earthbound still.

If it weren't for the ways it could go wrong, and the whole voiding of the warranty thing, I might be tempted at that point to gut both consoles and swap them so the one with all the data was in the new case. Or at least the parts the store WW & VC games.

Nintendo commands you to delete the downloaded games because it's ilegaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal!!!!, turtles are awesome too!
