Topic: The games that have been removed from the wii shop

I can't figure out which ones but I'm almost positive a few more games are missing too

Can anyone confirm whether or not that is the case?

Lonpos, Shootanto, and Diner Dash are missing but those are definitely gone for good. I don't think a whole lot of people noticed. There's three more Japan only releases that are gone forever too.

EDIT: Oh I guess Brain Challenge is gone in Japan too but it's still fine here. I expect it'll get taken down here eventually though, just a guess.

I wanted to buy Shootanto today... bummer!!!!!

Why are there none of those crabby party games on the list......at this rate all the good stuff'll be removed

@SKTTR - shootanto was kind of a mess...you're prob better off saving your money. Framerate was unforgivably poor....in fact, most everything about the game was just plain bad. Sucks cause the concept/gameplay looked interesting....aiming/shooting sucked though, and rate of fire was horrible.

I'd rather see the family series games or Sexy Poker,or Space Trek get removed instead of Diner Dash or The Magic Obilisk which were games I actually wanted,on a sidenote it concerns me that games like Dinner Dash which was released in February 2010 have already been removed.....what's next Cave Story or Jett Rocket?

I don't know maybe the wii shop channel can only hold 31 pages in the Wiiware section?

I checked and can confirm no VC games were removed in EU (apart from Last Ninja 3 which had a gamebreaking bug and was removed in February 2010).

Only the 6 WiiWare games were removed.

Racers' Islands - Crazy Racers, Gods vs Humans and Racers' Islands - Crazy Arenas have all been removed as Zallag closed its doors in May, sadly. Zallag closes (in French).

As for Magic Obelisk, I've reached out to Game Arts to see if they can tell me anything.

Even if a company closes its doors that doesn't mean their games need to be dropped from the service.
SnapDragon Games closed it's doors last year but Karate Phants is still available.
Nintendo and Hudson didn't close their doors... but still, LONPOS, Shootanto and Diner Dash are gone.

@SKTTR Fair enough, but they might have requested their games be taken from the service. I've tried contacting them but emails just bounce back.

Good thing I still have the Demo of Gods vs. humans.

@Swerd: I haven't played it in awhile, but I don't remember Shootano being a bad. Did you actually play it?

I'm a little annoyed that we weren't warned that this could happen. Does this happen on xbox and psn?
The least they could have done was give us a headsup that these were to be taken off soon. They might have got a few more sales that way.

Can people who own them still gift them?

Hudson pretty much has closed their doors but considering the fact that they have tons of games that haven't been took down I doubt that's the reason the games have been removed.

I'm sure no one will miss these games. They were probably removed because they flat out sucked and no one was buying them. I bet Dragon master spell caster is still there though. Can't believe that wasn't removed.

Maybe they were just pissed about poor sales and took it down.
I was almost gonna buy that one too.

Fortunately I downloaded LONPOS earlier. And it's a good puzzle game.
I was going to buy Shootanto today but now I want Nintendo to give me the money back for the points that I bought just for this game.
Diner Dash and Gods vs Humans were on my radar too, and I wanted to buy them sooner or later.
It's annoying that they've been taken down without even a warning.

We should be able to name 50 WiiWare games that are worse than the 6 removed ones!
And it's got nothing to do with sales as well, as Diner Dash seemed to be doing quite good in it's first months, taking the charts of the different regions into consideration.
