I can't believe it! My wii has worked fine for 2 years and now all of a sudden it won't read ANY disks. At first I thought it was only super smash bros, but then I tried excite bots(which I just recently bought) and it didn't work! It also didn't work on gamecube games either. And the games don't even show up in the disk channel. When I click on the disk channel, it says it doesn't recognize it. I'm assuming it has something to do with the disk sensor, because I cleaned my disks and that didnt do anything. So what should I do? Should I send it in? Or is there something that I can buy that cleans the sensor? Plz help!
I've had my year for 2 years, so I think my warranty has expired. I don't know if I have enough money to pay for it to be sent in. Are there any other options?
Well you can try the Wii optical drive cleaner which costs $10. I tried it unfortunately it did not work for me. It does cost $75 to send your Wii in for repairers, and unfortunately for me I do not have that money yet. Good luck with getting your Wii back up in operating condition.
Hope you get your Wii drive working again, good luck. I have to mention that one night I tried twice to put the disc wrong way to the drive (I was a bit drunk though)

I thought I would mention this, some games when I put them in they don't even show up on the disk channel. But some games will show up on the disk channel, but I when I press start it gives me an error code saying disk could not be read please eject. Does that mean anything?

it might be because some of the newer wii games are double-layer discs (SSBB is one example), and if the wii's lens is dirty then it won't be able to read them.
ok is there anyone on your friends list who has a mod chip or homebrew channel? they may have put a virus on your wii
