Captain Jack has Aspergers. The thing that he knows heaps about appears to be Pirates of the Carribean. Please give him a break.

I'm not quite sure what to say to that; or what you mean by that in the first place @Kim+Jong-II?! I'm not even sure if that is a compliment or not?! Plus you don't even know me that well to say that even!

That was neither a compliment nor an insult, it was an observation. You said in an earlier thread you have aspergers, and you seem to know every single line from Pirates of the Carribean. I simply put two and two together.

Well that makes more sens to me now; so thanks for the better unterstanding! Also makes me feel more appreciated I'm well known!

Okay now this thread can get back on topic; I'm officially done now!

But I stand by my opinions about Mario Kart 64; it is indeed my only top favorite in series!

@Kim Jong II-Watch it do not mess with the legendary hedgehog. Actually, she is not my girlfriend for sure yet,we only met a few weeks ago. But,I'm working on that changing VERY SOON. I know she like me though, she's just too shy to say it.

HMMM i dunno yet right now im weighing between mario kart, wave race, bubble bobble plus, and onslaught, have no idea which to choose

Those are all top good picks!

I'd pick Mario Kart 64 over Wave Race though. That's my opinion; because I still don't have Wave Race or can comment on that. But I belive others will back me up & say Wave Race is just as fun & I think there are way more unlockables... & you can ride a dolphins!

And of course people like Bubble Bobble; it's a fun arcade game... I still haven't tried it either!

I just don't like Onslaught/nay I loathe it because I despite all FPS in general... don't ask it's an Asbergers thing!

@Captain Jack Sparrow-Actually,Mario Kart 64 is my second favorite. Mario Kart Wii is my first favorite.

Whatever floats your boat; that's cool!
I just don't like Mario Kart Wii as much; reasons I stated earlier because that's why I stopped playing a long time ago!

@Captain Jack Sparrow-Don't get me wrong,I LOVE Mario Kart 64 and it was my favorite one for a LONG time, but Mario Kart Wii's online mode sealed the deal. But,I hate those lighting clouds!

Well DUH; the graphics say it all dude!!
That is if old school 2D is your thing over polished 3D!

I still don't even know why people get so worked up about not having Super Mario Kart on the VC in NA; when it was just recently announced & released in Japan!! Like our SSB64 incident... it'll take several long months before we see it appear on the VC here in NA!!

If Mario Kart 64 had an online mode I'd buy it. I just don't have anyone to play with I'd consider it better than Mario Kart Wii, just because I can't stand the unbalanced nature of MK Wii

Just because the graphics are better in 64 doesn't mean the gameplay is better....

SNES one is better all around. I prefer its graphics. Just because a game is in 3D doesn't mean it looks better. In the 64 era, this meant primitive and empty environments. The SNES was the pinnacle of the 2D era, and Mario Kart has all the graphical charm one would expect from that time. It also has much better music while we're judging the games based on the most superficial aspects.

Also, if you do find someone to play with, the SNES one is much more beginner friendly. MK64 introduced the mini-turbo which is great if you're into time trials, but bad if you want to play with someone who doesn't own the game or play games often.

In conclusion: The original Mario Kart is the only one with the feather item; hence, it is the best in the series. If you only want one Mario Kart on VC, be patient and wait for the better one. Both are good in their own way, though!

It's hard to compare. The SNES courses are much shorter, so you really zoom by them. MK64 is technically faster in that your kart moves faster (not a whole lot, but noticeably), but the tracks are so long that it seems to go by a bit slower.

I'd rank MK64 pretty low in the series, above only MKWii, but don't get me wrong... it's Mario Kart. I've got it on VC and was even playing it recently. You can't just ignore Block Fort. But if you had to choose only one, go with the original. It's the original!

Plus, MK64 can make the undesirable claim of introducing the blue shell. Icky.

Apparently (since i never played 3-4 player before on my n64 when i had it) in multiplayer bombs also run down the track and hit you when you're racing, taking away a lot of fun

Depends on your point of view... I love the Bomb Karts! It's very easy to avoid them, and as soon as they hit another kart or an item, they're gone. It just adds to the excitement and keeps eliminated players entertained. Battle mode is the only thing I felt MK64 improved upon.

I still think MK64 is the best Mario Kart. MK Wii is loads of fun, but MK64 has the better levels. Choco Mountain should have made it to the Wii version. I think bonuses are (a little) more balanced too. And yeah, the best Battle Mode too. Block Fort forever.

MKWii is the best in the series IMO. Followed by MK:DD!!, DS, 64, and Super Circuit. (never played the original of the arcade one.)

DD?? i really didn't like that one, the whole two characters per car didnt really entice me, with all the switching and bogus gimmicks (at least in my opinion, not in urs obviously). And wii is good i think, but too luck based for single player and the bikers who use that stupid bike boosting thing all the time makes wifi no fun (if they stuck to carts, that wud have been mint). However, wii had 12 racers at once, which was sweet, i can't wait until all characters are racing at once with less cheap items, then its really formula one style and zany.

For me from what ive played it goes: MKDS>MK64 = MKWii (tie)>MKDD

Double Dash had great courses. The beach level is one of the best beach levels, and those are generally among the best courses (for some reason), with the exception of the MKWii beach. It also had LAN capability making it the first Mario Kart (probably first first-party Nintendo game, actually) to support more than four players. If you had a chance to play this, you know it's awesome. It may not be as exciting as a Four Swords party, but it at least doesn't take a toll on your friendships, haha.
