the only reason i would even remotely agree with you regarding SMG being better than SM64 would be if (a) we were discussing the games in terms of their soundtracks, or (b) we were talking SM64DS as opposed to the original version. SMG's a great game, but it's no SM64.

MK64 is the best MK game IMO, followed closely by MKDS and then the original SMK.

NSMBW is nowhere near the 2nd-best 2D Mario game. even SMB2(US) is better IMO.

Kirby Super Star (and KSSU for DS) beg to differ regarding 'best kirby game ever'.

as for Metroid, Punch-Out!!, and NBA Jam, i haven't played the new versions (and i don't really plan on doing so) so idk. i do intend to pick up DKCR eventually, i just haven't gotten around to it yet, so i'm holding off on judgment at this time (though i think DKC2 will be very hard to beat, haha).

well, i am not factoring in nostalgia and or odd game tastees

i am just posting what is objectivly better

fior example my grandma may have fonder memories of her fod 500 because of the time of live she lived when she drove it - but that does not make it an objectivley better car then her buick lesabre

Probably is, but I doubt it beats the original Arcade version. Not that I've played The new one, nor do I intend to.

The rest are just your opinion, which you obviously feel too strongly about to make any other arguments completely pointless.

lol super metroid aiming is based on an 8 slot d pad, metroid prime 3 is totally open ended and tight

you do the math?

Super Mario Galaxy 2>Galaxy>64<Sunshine. Sunshine is my favorite Mario game. You're just going to have go get used to that.

Punch-Out!! Wii>Punch-Out!! vs. Mike Tyson>Super Punch-Out!!

Donkey Kong Country Returns=Donkey Kong Jungle Beat>Every other DK game

Kirby's Epic Yarn>Every other Kirby game.

There.

EDIT: My goodness, I forgot about Zelda and Metroid. Well I'll just rank my top 5 since this < > business is getting irritating.

Zelda (top 5)
1. Wind Waker
2. Ocarina of Time
3. Majora's Mask
4. Twilight Princess (Wii)
5. A Link to the Past

Metroid
1. Metroid Zero Mission
2. Super Metroid (Wii)
3. Metroid Prime 3
4. Metroid Other M (Wii)
5. Metroid Fusion

Over all I'd say the Wii entries of the major Nintendo franchises are doing pretty stinkin' good.

but these are your opinions...? by their very nature they are not objective statements.

also, 'newer' doesn't always equal 'better' — there are always flaws to be considered along with updates to an established series' gameplay. whether you find the newer version better than the old release or not is all subjective :3

What math? I'm going by experience. I had more problems controlling my aiming in Metroid Prime 3 than I did with Super Metroid or Zero Mission.

that is simply not true
aiming in super metroid is severely restricted, your aiming in prime 3 is not and since both games rely on shooting things as a primary game play function, mp3 is objectivly better to control

But those 8 ways to aim are all you need. The more complex something is, the more things go wrong. Super Metroid is simple, yet effective. Metroid Prime 3 was more complex, but it wasn't without its occasional problems.

... Despite his spelling, I generally agree with marcus3DS. I love Galaxy 1 and 2, followed by Sunshine, then Mario 64. Same basic thing for Metroid, Zelda, etc.

But I'm not about to say the only reason someone would prefer the older games is nostalgia. Many of the older games are outright different from their sequels and can better appeal to someone's tastes. Secondly, something in a game that may be considered dated by today's standards, such as a terrible save system, can be better tolerated or even enjoyed by someone who grew up with the games (or simply prefers the older style of gaming). This isn't nostalgia, it's preference. Much how if you showed a kid and bright and colorful 3D CGI cartoon, he'd think a black and white drawn cartoon would be archaic and poor. Someone who grew up with the older style is used to it and it's easier for them to see past the "flaws" that comes with an older media.

BulbasaurusRex

Mario Kart Wii is probably the best one for online play, but it's by no means best overall. Local play in Double Dash is quite a bit better than in the Wii version, especially in Battle Mode, and the same is true of MK64.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

Personally, I do like Galaxy 1 more than SM64. But I prefer SM64 over Galaxy 2.
