I want to play Woolly World. Should I get the Wii U or 3DS version?
I have both consoles, keep in mind i want to get the physical editions for a low price if possible, and multiplayer is a factor I want to consider.
Mainly the question is, is whatever the 3ds version adds worth it for the res drop and lack of multiplayer?
@sneaky_sasquatch Only you can decide how much you value the extra stuff in the 3DS version. But if I were you I'd buy the 3DS version fairly soon because I suspect it will only get more expensive over time (lucky exceptions excluded).
And personally, I'd buy them both, then you can decide for yourself and if you don't want to keep both you'll be able to sell one/them on without losing much, if any, money.
I bought the Wii U version on release and picked up the 3DS version later. I'd happily play either one, but haven't played enough of the 3DS version yet to be able fully appreciate the extras in it.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
3DS has more features and options. So unless you reeaaaally want the big console graphics and multiplayer, the 3DS is the best way to play.
ok to be fair to the Wii U version, like half the reason for this game's existence is to look really good. The aesthetic is the main selling point of the game, outside of being another Yoshi game.
Worth mentioning that Yoshi's Woolly World runs at a lower framerate on the older 3DS models. It's only 60fps on New 3DS and New 2DS.
I'll say this: while the Wii U version obviously looks better than the lower-res 3DS version, I actually think the art-style transitioned quite nicely to the handheld. It's not noticeably low-res.
As for the multiplayer, I never felt like it was terribly well-integrated into the game, but if you want to play with someone else, you only have one option, right?
Graphics-wise it’s quite interesting, because they clearly took a lot of time and care in adapting it to the 3DS. It doesn’t look like a simple downgraded version, it looks like it’s own thing, like a remake.
