A friendly pre-E3 bump. This is where we stand, expecting plenty of official final titles ("X", Mario Kart, Yarn Yoshi, Mario 3D, probably Smash and Retro's game) and hopefully several release dates. Also, I think I'm going to create a 3DS version of this.
P.S.
An eShop Direct would be nice. That's a long list with almost no release dates.
Edit: I updated with a handful of European release dates, even though the list is organized by NA dates (unless, with the lone example of Ashes Cricket, the game isn't releasing here.) You lucky folks, in most cases, get your games a week or so earlier than NA. Enjoy!
Also, Call of Duty: Ghosts and Beyond Good and Evil 2 have not been announced for Wii U (especially not the later one )
I dont believe Human Element have been mentioned as a Wii U game, either.
So, is everyone going DLC or retail for New Super Luigi U? There's something oh-so-quaint about that box art, but at the same time, the game seems like a good way to break in my hard drive beyond the Virtual Console love. Decisions, decisions. Regardless, this is certainly my only major Wii U purchase until Pikmin 3 - although I did upgrade Mario Bros., and anxiously await 30 cent Donkey Kong.
Nintendo fans are STILL playing the waiting game ... all of the good games come out in 2014 .. LOL
Not ALL - this year we get Pikmin 3, Watch_Dogs, Assassin's Creed IV, Batman: Arkham Origins, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Rayman Legends, The Wind Waker HD, Donkey Kong Country Returns 2, and Super Mario 3D World. Granted, these may not appeal to everyone, and not all of them are the most completely refreshing and innovative experiences... in fact, more of them (DKCR, Rayman, AC IV, 3D Mario) are probably very refined sequels or (Wind Waker, Deus Ex) ports, but they will all definitely give a much needed boost of quality to the current lineup of Wii U games.
I certainly anticipate 2014 to be a better year though, no question about it, but the further we get into fall, the more the majority of Wii U owners will have to play.
I certainly hope a lot of people support these big third party games (Deus Ex port, ...and the non-ports of Blacklist, Rayman, Assassin's Creed, Watch_Dogs, and Batman). If they interest you, and you want the Wii U to get the consideration of big name companies come 2014 and 2015, you have to prove that these titles have a market, otherwise third parties will neglect it the same as the Wii. I understand that many people buy Nintendo consoles simply for Nintendo franchises, but there are a huge number of fantastic games from other companies out there that COULD be on a Nintendo platform alongside the Mario and Zelda and Metroid. They have my invitation.
No complaints about the way the summer is shaping up.
By the end of August, we will have AT LEAST six new eShop games, which is a lot better activity than practically the rest of 2013 put together.
Cloudberry Kingdom 8/1/13
DuckTales Remastered 8/13/13
Pokemon Rumble U 8/29/13
Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystar - August 2013
Spin the Bottle: Bumpie's Party - August 2013
Super Ubie Land - August 2013
In August, we also, of course have Pikmin 3 and retail New Super Luigi U, Disney Infinity if you're into that sort of thing, and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist, a game that I'm personally supporting, and I hope anyone who discounts it as another generic shooter does their research before not considering it. It's much more stealth-based and it's a third-person action-adventure. It's way closer to Metal Gear Solid than it is Call of Duty. I've seen a lot of people disregard it as just another shooter, and I just thought I'd give some third party support and put it back on some radars. Here's a trailer:
Update for your ease of usage regarding eShop games; changed all of the non-official dates that I had listed as "2013" and "2014" to "TBA." This makes everything as nice and alphabetical as possible until it gets a firmer date.
