I spend a whole night trying to tweak wireless but it was a hassle, so I just ordered a wii lan adapter for wii u, to play wired on wii u as it has way better speeds.

Your avatar scares me.
Anyways friend of mine had the same exact problem, everything in his house works like a charm, various idevices, pcs, macs, 3DS, xbox, ... not Wii U. It's a bit of a bummer, I'm not sure if he already found a solution but I probably guess he'd go the same route as you!

My 3DS Top 10 (no particular order): Code of Princess, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Castlevania Lords of Shadows, Fire Emblem Awakening, Scribblenauts Unlimited, Animal Crossing, Paper Mario Sticker Star, New Super Mario Bros 2, Mario Land 3D, Gunman Clive.

I had massive problems with it, I bought the Wii LAN adaptor ready for launch as I knew speeds wud be slower than hard wired, but i didnt expenct such a clart on to get connected ;o( spent over 2 hrs looking at soloutions online with other users having similar problems. Ended up having to ring Nintendo up who were very helpful. They said sum routers were giving them problems such as mine (Virgin Media Hub) go figure lol

I've got a question, with the LAN adapter, do you see better speeds when it comes from moving in and out of different games and apps? I'm starting to wonder if a lot of the delay is cause by it trying to call out to their severs each time I move back to the main menu.

Is it a dual band router? My router uses both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz and I find 2 listed networks with identical SSIDs on the Wii U connection menu. If I connect to the stronger 2.4Ghz with any device I get atrocious performance (1 Mbs and drops/connection failures etc.) if I use the weaker 5Ghz then I get good throughput (30 Mbs). From what I read online the 2.4Ghz frequency is much more prone to interference from other electronic devices which is why performance can be a lot worse (but it has a better range).

This can give the appearance of the device being the cause of a bad connection if it connects at a different frequency to the other devices.

I have heard a lot of problems with the super hub. Virgin just upgraded our internet to 120mb and installed a super hub for us. As soon as they left I put the super sub into modem mode and connected my old wireless router to it. Everything working fine.
