As others have said, keep in mind that a PC will need more RAM than a console to run a given game, due to the overhead introduced by the more complex operating systems found on PC.
Having said that, I recently built a couple of computers for relatives, which each had 8GB of RAM, costing $36. That's dirt cheap, and considering that I wasn't even paying wholesale, I imagine the Wii U will probably have several GB of RAM.
