They should give up on games like Metroid,F-Zero, and Starfox because their old games, and you should feel old for liking them.

Young is overrated.

To quote Eugene Hutz - "I never, never want to be young again."

I've held off linking to this, but since everyone on here's indulging in idle speculation, some of those doing so may like to read the igle speculation of an IGN staff journalist as he looks at Nintendo development studios:

First party studios - http://www.ign.com/blogs/81jono81/2013/01/13/what-nintendos-d...

Internal studios - http://www.ign.com/blogs/81jono81/2013/01/15/what-nintendos-d...

Second party studios still to come.

I just want new games. The originals are available on VC, so if anyone really cares about what happened before their current game storywise, or even how the gameplay was improved, they can go there(or online) and look. I want new games, and remaking an F-Zero/Starfox/Metroid game is kind of impossible anyway, so it only makes sense to create new ones. Whatever Nintendo does, is whatever Nintendo does.

HAL is working on a new game beyond Sakurai's team (along with Namco-Bandi) working on Smash Bros.? A new Kirby perhaps?

I hope so but we could also somehow be a third unannounced team working on smash bros.

"Hal is working on a new Kirby game" would be the biggest piece of non-news ever btw. They haven't made a game anyone remembers about other than Kirby since the N64 Pokemon games.

Well there is a slight problem in that thinking.

Uhh... and the moment, as of now, it has a 0/100 chance of appearing on the Wii U.
I hope Nintendo doesn't try and buy the IP. I don't think it'd be worth it. Just go with whatever those ex-Rare guys are doing.

Welll what i mean by it is because they could have a 50/50 chance of getting the rights to use it on the Wii U if they wanted to make one for the fans. Rare still makes good games though.

Err... do you have anything to back up that percent?

I mean, I guess you can say that. But they aren't the same kind of good. All the real talent already left.

They can be though. They have been hiring alot lately. Simon Woodroffe as the creative director as well as quite a few ex codemaster guys. They are rumored to have two games currently in development a Kinect game and am action/adventure game. Also Rare is under new leadership with Craig Duncan having been over development for around a year now.

Also the team today made up of the guys who worked on Kameo and onward. That's still a lot of good games being made.

That is true but nintendo are still creative and could help them. As for the percents nintendo usually listens to fans and does what they ask so it is 50/50 on if they will listen or not and 50/50 if they could get the rights.

They make good games regardless of Nintendo. Thing is Nintendo isn't getting the IP or the company. Microsoft just had a European press briefing where they announced a new head at Rare and it was teased they are going to show something at E3.

Personally, I think Nintendo could do pretty well by hiring the old Banjo Kazooie and Rare staff and getting them to make a spiritual successor. After all, could a new team over at Rare be able to do better than the team who made the Nintendo 64 games? Imagine if they could even get the likes of Grant Kirkhope to compose the music for it...

Which reminds me, Nintendo should so hire David Wise to compose the music for the next Donkey Kong Country title. After all, I hear he's currently not working for any particular studio, and it'd mean they'd get the same quality of music as in the SNES games.

I wish Nintendo would've grabbed up Free Radical. Could you imagine TimeSplitters as a Nintendo exclusive? That would've been great...

They already formed their own studio.

If I'm not mistaken, David Wise applied for a job at Retro and got turned down.
