Topic: Nintendo working on Mario Kart HD, Zelda Wii U, Mii Shooting & More

I predict Super Smash Bros will come out on Wii U... The date is to be announced, and I haven't gotten the name of it from my soruce yet, but mark my words, it is coming. I know, I know, I'm crazy like that.
Seriously, though, we know Mario Kart Wii U, is going to happen, and we know the 3DS and Wii U will get a Zelda game some time, it's like predicting a new U.S president will be elected in 2016. Seeing a prediction for Wii Sports U just seems kind of weird. And Mii Shooting? It sounds like a bad name for a Mii themed CoD clone.

I used to travel the stars, then I discovered Earth, and these incredibly addicting things called 'Video Games.'
And they said you couldn't buy happiness!

Or more likely two very exciting games, three reasonably interesting fillers and two you'll probably have zero interest in whatsoever.

There's still the new IPs from Miyamoto and Monolith Soft, those are the two I'm most excited for and Retro's project.

I only really only care how a Mario Kart game will turn out. I hope there's some creative ambition involved. Miiverse and Gamepad integration could lead to some great game ideas.

I would say that makes it more interesting honestly. I mean, we know they're working on their main franchises, but those 'undisclosed projects' could be anything. Something new, something crazy good, etc. Nintendo's not a company that can't get a game on their consoles due to lack of support or funds, so it's guaranteed that they will be pretty great. 'Undisclosed project' status is the kind of games you want to see, trust me. I kinda really do want a new Wii (U) Sports. I wasn't too impressed with the first 2, but they've improved stuff ALOT since then.

Mario Kart is expected.

Zelda is expected.

Mii Shooting sounds uninteresting.

All I'm really curious about is RETRO Studios and Monolith Soft's new titles. Can't wait to see what they're up too.

Seven "undisclosed projects". Does this really count as news?! As for the other stuff, the only things that come as a surprise are the shooting gallery (Wii Duck Hunt?) and Wii Sports, if true. To be honest, a lot of it sounds like guesswork to me.

Also, we have no idea how many of these "Undisclosed Projects" are Wii U titles, or 3DS titles (since the list contains titles for both platforms).

I'm hoping most are 3DS titles, but that's just because I don't have a Wii U

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

Well you just look at what sort of titles they have worked on previously. Educated guesses:

  • One of the EAD Tokyo teams are working on a 3D Mario title
  • Retro Studios are almost surely working on a Wii U game, why wouldn't they be?
  • NdCube... will be working on Mario Party or something similar
  • HAL are probably working on a Kirby Game
  • The rest? anyone's guess...

Shouldn't one of them be SSB4?

Isn't the next Smash Bros being developed by Sora/Namco/??? rather than Sora/HAL/???. The whole "who's making Smash Bros" thing is pretty confusing....

Punch-Out!! U, StarTropics 3, Wario Land 6 ect ect....

Plenty of room for "etc, etc" amongst the "Undisclosed Project" you'd assume. Also amongst developers who can make core Nintendo titles outside of this list. Like Next Level Games and so on.

I'm betting the Zelda game will feature some kind of connectivity between 3DS and Wii U versions

another poor selling Wario Land sequal(ahem, shake it)

I quite liked Shake It. It honestly mystifies my why it didn't sell better - two years later the Wii was awash with pretty 2D platformers but at the time this was fairly unique.

i just wish Nintendo would take more of a risk with some of their less popular franchises instead of playing it more on the safe side.

What would be really interesting is if they played it even less safe: I'd be very interested if at E3 Nintendo stand up and announce that Retro have been developing a new, mature content, IP. I know that's very un-Nintendo, but so's funding a port of Gaiden 3 and the Bayonetta sequel. It's been quiet for a while but we were told that Nintendo wanted to win back the "core" gamer with Wii U. Nothing will encourage third party developers to make those games for the Wii U quite as much as a title racking up sales on the system (and we all know Nintendo promote their own titles more when compared to other systems).

I'm doubting it. The 3DS game will likely come out either this year or next year, while the Wii U game will come out in about 3 years.
