Well, I'm just 16 and don't have a job. I'm also not exactly broke and I've been wanting to buy a wii u for almost two years.

I think NX is supposed to be QoL hardware. Even if Dragon Quest shows up on it, which is also going to be on 3DS, that would still say in the very least, that it will share only SOME software. It doesn't make sense why they would say DQ will be on 3DS and NX, but be absent on Wii U, under the idea that NX is replacing it, because then why would 3DS be getting it?

Playing Dragon Quest XI on a sleep sensor... hmm, not sure what to think of that.

I predict NX to be a super Wii U without the gamepad. Similar to how New 3DS plays old 3DS and New 3DS exclusives. The gamepad will be optional and they can still release Wii U titles just as they still release 3DS titles.

Only massive games that require the added horsepower will be NX games and they will try and lure multi-platform games to the console but it will still retain Wii U and Wii BC. Heck throw in Gamecube BC as well with virutal console making it play everything, the Nintendo Cross Platform, Nintendo X, NX. Games that don't need that much horsepower can still be released as Wii U games and be playable on the NX.

Just wait for NX and you'll likely be able to play those WiiU games on it (if only through emulation like X1).

@BlueSkies: Maybe. But then maybe not. That's the thing: we have no idea. If the NX is a console at all and if it's a return to form rather than more innovation, it won't be ABLE to play some U games due to not supporting the GamePad. People look at the gamepad as just a controller, but it's actually an integral piece of the hardware.

The UGXloggery ... really needs an update.

@UGXwolf: they could introduce a slimmer gamepad as an accesoire for the NX(if it indeed is a console).

That was like 11 years ago, bro, and they SHOULD have known the DS would replace GBA, because it had a freaking GBA slot. That's why GBA Micro was a joke to most people and why no one should have ever bought a GBA(SP) after DS was released, unless they wanted GB and GBC games. GBA compatibility got knocked out of DSi in 2008, which like 4 years after DS was released. That's not really early in te life cycle.

That is why DeNA and NX were announced at the same time, because Nintendo is making the non-wearable QoL gadgets along with strengthening their mobile presence and online infrastructure.

@Octane
If hardware that runs your sleep sensor can also run DQ, then I don't see the problem. I just figure that NX will mostly run programs like Wii Fit U with the QoL gadgets, with other bits of software in between. That's why it's already sharing DQ with 3DS.

It's not a very good example, though. The New 3DS still basically IS the new GameBoy. Anyone with common sense that bought DS is 2004, already knew that's where all the new games were going. That's why Mario and Luigi, Metroid Prime, etc. were all there.

The only way a GB would have existed, is if they tried to directly compete against PSP, but that's what they weren't already doing. That's why anyone buying DS knew it would have been the newest thing for a while, especially since it was already playing GBA games. Micro was $30 less and only played GBA, so the choice was beyond obvious. DS Lite was already out a year later, too, and it was just a revision. Anyone with common sense would have known that GBA was gone, almost immediately.

NX is getting a 3DS game, and Wii U isn't. Wii U not getting DQ is an obvious sign that NX isn't "stealing" games from Wii U, but being supported differently, entirely. You'll probably be able to play VC and some other games like DQ, but I'm still sticking with NX dealing mostly with QoL non-wearables.

I don't even think Wii U is setup to run the QoL to its fullest, because Wii U is already running games like Zelda U and Xenoblade. Wii U won't multitask 2 full programs, which is what QoL would require if it runs constantly and was actually taken seriously. Anyone who thinks Zelda U is going to be on NX, but not Wii U, is ridiculous, because the demo they showed us was already on Wii U. If Nintendo was truly struggling(like some people think, I guess), they would market Wii U, where all their fanbase already is and has already bought games on, instead of pushing new stuff. NX isn't getting Devil's Third or any of that, and it's obvious, because we know it is getting DQ, but nothing was said about anything else. DQ from 3DS was announced, and nothing else, when there is already a bunch of new games coming to Wii U.

It's all common sense.
