good multiplayer even!

Beyond Good and Evil 2 better be happening! In the meanwhile though, here's a fun little Let's Play of the original. Think you'll like the game if you like Zelda!

Well, Prime Hunters has local multiplayer, but Echoes was the first time the series had a multiplayer mode. Granted, Metroid Prime Hunters sacrificed the quality of the main story made to make the multiplayer good.

Ya, like Halo. I absolutely hate the campaign, but Halo has the best FPS multiplayer, IMO.
Metroid Prime Hunters was basically a fun Halo DS, until action replay happened.

I have to agree but I think the Halo: Combat Evolved campaign was good.

I loved Metroid Prime 3 back on the Wii....If anything, I was more blown away by the Wii Pointer controls which completely breathed new life into the series aside from being a revolution and major advancement to the FP genre in general, which also made the immersion, fun, and intuitive factor 10x more powerful. I also completed the original Prime back during it's debut on the gamecube, which i'll admit I had a love/hate relationship with...Was never really a big fan of analog thumb twiddling first person controls since day one, so that didn't exactly make things any better.

Anyways, the problem I have with the Prime series which everybody typically praises are the visuals and music.....This isn't what I expected after being so accustomed to the 8, and 16-bit 2D entries....I didn't like The realistic visuals, I felt like Prime should of retained the more colorful and slightly cartoonier hyper styalized look of Super Metroid but in 3D... As for the soundtrack, it's absolutely depressing at times, even more so in Metroid Prime 3 I'd say. Haven't touched Echoes, maybe one day when I pick up the Metroid Prime Trilogy.

But yup, Other M at least had wicked Nintendo-y art direction that followed in Super metroids footsteps as far as character and enemy design goes, along with Samus's animations. If anything, the environments were typically barren and lackluster. if they had went for this look for the prime series and offered a more kinetic, less serious and Nintendo sounding soundtrack I would of been in heaven.

As is, the original prime and even 3 kind of leave a bad taste in my mouth.
