Topic: Is there any way to turn off the "disc" indicator ?

I got a Wii U and I've placed it in my bedroom, but there's one thing that is driving me crazy: the white light, placed on the front of the console that indicates if a disc is inserted.
During the day it gives me no problems, but at night if I forgot to remove the disc from the unit, the white light remains lit even when the console is switched off and it's REALLY annoying for me, because it lights up the room just when all I want is sleep in the dark...

Have you any advice to give me, beside unplugging the power cord, please?

I don't think so , or I havnt seen that in settings anyway. Stick a tiny bit of black tape over it

Either unplug it, take the disc out when you're finished, block it with something, or get used to it.

This is your best bet, And I know what your taling about. I had a strong case of this with my 3ds espcially since I never turn it so I've settled on turing it around. Actually of you can do that without messing thing, turning it might be a good solution if you don't want to tape over the light or put somethig or don't want/can't put something in front of it.

Just put some game-case or book before it.

while i understand the annoyance this would cause especially if your trying to sleep, the light shouldnt be turned off because of what it does, it tells you if there is already a disc in the drive... lord knows what would happen if you try to put a disc in there when there is one already in there...

It probaly would just not go in.

I'm remembering this story when the Wii first came out of some stupid lady that thought she had to physically put her credit card in the disc slot to buy Wii Points. Put like five of them in (maybe in addition to an actual Wii disc?) before it got completely jammed up.

Thanks to everyone. By reading your advices I realized that the only way to resolve my problem is using a piece of insulating tape to cover the light.
