If the game was Pushmo, I would put a card in their stocking with a Xmas-themed puzzle. Kind of like Santa made them a puzzle for their new game.
Either way, I just produce a card with some art on it instructing them to fire up the console to relish in more goodies. I usually leave it on the plate of cookies, like Santa was eating cookies while putting games on the console. Stockings work, too.
OK, just read through the thread... The proper way to go about this is to, on Christmas Eve, eat the cookies while D/Ling SSB, lay out some controllers, and either get up early, or leave the console on... So when the kids wake up and rush for the tree they will be greeted by SSB on the TV. One of them will probably even ask if Santa was playing it... And, of course, he was.
This is probably better than simply wrapping a disc and scribbling "From Santa." The magic, you know?
Hmmmm.. How about making a red folder, naming it From Santa and then put SSB4 in it? Oh, and put it somewhere obvious where they would be surprised when they see that new folder out of nowhere XD
I'd probably go the midnight download route, then perhaps have the Wii U on and Smash running. Have the television off, with at the very least a card attached to the front telling them "From: Santa To: (Insert name here) Turn on the TV". If I wanted to make a bigger production of it, I'd drape garlands around the edge of the television.
