hey, like the title says, i need to format my wiiu without losing my MH3U saved games.
the reason why i need to format the wiiu is cause somehow the tv settings changed from hdmi to non hdmi, and now i can't change back, cause it says my tv is not plugged in..
the way to fix this is to plug it VIA non hdmi, but i don't have the cables

The only way to keep the MH3U data would be to transfer it to the 3DS version...

Try connecting the WiiU to a different TV and see if you can change settings that way?

Wait you can't use your WiiU unless it's plugged in to a TV? Weird. I often times move mine to my room just bringing the power cable and don't have it hooked up to a TV and it works fine. Must be a PAL thing I guess... Sorry can't help ya.

i can play with my gamepad, what i can't do is Change in the TV options from Non-HDMI to HDMI, says to check if the Tv is plugged in

If you have a spare usb thumb drive then you can put it in on the back usb port. It will tell you to format it. Once done you'll have the option to move files on the thumb drive.

but then i can put the Monster Hunter save game, format and then put it back again and play?
cause some ppl say the save games don't work after doing that

Why not? It's basically the same mirror file you transferred. Even better, with the new update you can transfer from usb storage drive to another. I tried it myself.

Never mind the new update fixed the issue =))

Your problem doesn't really need for you to transfer files from one drive to another & reset your Wii U to factory default setting. The easy solution is in your Wii U settings. Somehow it got resetted or something & you need to set it back to its previous setting.

I've had that issue in the past. Honestly, I didn't play my Wii U for a day and it just went away. xD
