Considering Silicon Knight's recent track record, I wouldn't be very keen on picking the game up day-one. That said, I have yet to play the original Eternal Darkness, so I guess that's why my response isn't quite "Complete".

Some overrated boring Gamecube game. I think I'm one of the few who didn't exactly enjoy the experience.
I have to say Waveboy, I agree with you. It wasn't a bad game, but I don't understand why it's considered one of the best survival horror and one of the best Gamecube games around.

I guarantee if the Resident Evil Remake released side by side with Eternal Darkness people would be saying "eternal whaaa" ED had some interesting idea's, how the game would play tricks on you for example, but the core gameplay i found was a bore.
To be honest, I thought the tricks the game played on you became tedious after awhile. You know they are coming, and the only one that actually got me was when it said my memory card had been erased. I did think it was interesting how you could explore the same locations throughout different time periods, but like you said, most of the game is boring and not the least bit scary.
Oh, I loved Eternal Darkness (it remains my favorite GC title of all time). It's not like Silicon Knights has been doing anything else worthwhile so I expect to see a sequel sooner rather than later.

I bet the people who say "Eternal Darkness sucks" also have no clue who H.P Lovecraft is.
Moving on, Silicon Knights has a team of 25 people left. Given how long it takes them to make games when they have hundreds of employees, I think it's a laugh to think there will ever be a true sequel to this game.

I never said it sucked, just that it was overrated. I cared enough to beat the game three times to get the true ending. I don't see how knowing who H.P. Lovecraft is (which I do) and knowing that his works inspired the game should somehow affect my opinion of the game one way or the other.
I would buy Eternal Darkness 2, Eternal Darkness was one of my favorite games and have even wrote a letter to Silicon Knights telling them I would buy the seques iif they made, same with Ubisoft for BGaE 2

Darn you Nintendo, my backlog is already out of control and you are just making it worse with these new game announcements!!!!
I still haven't played the first one, so I can't say much about the topic...but I'm not sure the sanity effects would work a second time 'round. On top of that, Silicon Knights hasn't released a 'good' game in a while. So if they stuff it up, Eternal Darkness will probably be gone for good.
