@k8sMum Technical limitations. Thats why the ambassador GBA games were never released commercialy.
They are not fully implemented (no VC menu) and it was found out, that getting these games to work on the 3DS is more work than its worth.
Sure, they could make a buck or two with it, but it would also require manpower that is better suited to work on new games.
Maybe that will change with the N3DS, as its a tad more powerfull and may be able to handle these games more easily. Well see.
Thanks for the explanation. But the GBA was more powerful than the 3ds? (Forgive me, but I am really dense about this stuff!) It doesn't make sense.
If you want the REAL Harvest Moon (made by the ACTUAL developer), go with Story of Seasons from now on.
If you want Natsume's "Harvest Moon" slop, go with the Harvest Moon series.

It's not like Natsume's trying to trick people into buying their game or anything. They've been pretty transparent about it and I would've assumed that the people who care about the situation enough to insult Natsume would be the ones who actually try to inform themselves.
I'm absolutely bitter about this. I won't be purchasing any other Natsume product.

So Story of Seasons is a spiritual successor and a bypass of Natsume's IP ownership rights of the Harvest Moon franchise... It's what Bamco did to circumvent Sony's ownership of the Demon Souls and what Comcept did circumvent Capcom's Mega Man ownership.
Seems legit, many franchises do that to get away from IP ownership. Bloodborne and Dark Souls are spiritual successors to the Demon Souls IP. The only difference is this is helmed by From Software and the two publishers Bamco and Sony.

Absolutely. And I'll clarify, I think it's just stinky what Natsume is doing. But I'll buy their "classic" stuff. Anything after "A New Beginning" I won't.
SoS looks to be this December. I hope Marvelous makes a Wii U SoS.
