I'm trying to connect my Wii U to an old CRT set via my Wii's AV cable (which is allowable according to the Wii U setup guide) in order to enjoy some "Wii Sports Club" without crippling input delay, but I can't get it to work. The Wii works perfectly when I switch the cable over to it, but I get nothing but a blank TV screen (the GamePad still works) when I connect and turn on the Wii U. What do I do?

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

Try going into your wiiu system settings and adjusting the format to standard definition (which can be done via gamepad)

Usually it defaults HD, that's why you have to adjust it.

That was the problem (along with the aspect ratio). Thanks.
