Topic: Are the Wii U power cables the same as the Wii?

Hello,

Am just wondering if the Wii U power cable is the same as the Wii? Am getting a Wii U for Christmas. It will be sitting next to my Wii. How ever on Christmas day it is going to be hard for me to move my TV cabinet out so I can plug the Wii U power cable in then feed it through the cabinet to plug into the Wii U.

So am wondering could I simply just take the Wii power cable out of the Wii and plug it into the Wii U? Then a few days later I will get the Wii U power cable and plug it in when I get the time.

No. It's a bigger brick. The sensor bar is compatible though.

Also the plugs are mirror images of each other so you can't interchange them.

Rimmer: "Look, I think we've all got something to bring to this conversation, but I think that from now on the thing you should bring is silence."

Homer: "Oh people can come up with statistics to prove anything Kent. Forfty percent of all people know that."

Damn o well looks like I might have to wait until New year to play Wii U.

Dude, get an extra power brick now and hook it up so it's ready for Christmas. Or run an extension cord through there now so it's ready for Christmas.

^^ He wasn't attempting to have the consoles side-by-side. He needs to move a large cabinet to access the electrical outlet, so he was wondering if he could just simply re-use the Wii's power brick.
