Just got Majora's mask, and I am loving it so far. The only thing that is making me mad is the saving!?

Is that really the only way to save by going back in time??

I don't know what kind of Wii Alegeobla is playing on... But N64 and NeoGeo games CANNOT use the save state feature seen in other VC titles.

You can use owl statues to make temporary saves if you're just quitting for the day.

Hm? No, you can quit by going to the home menu and returning to the Wii Menu for there. It just won't save your state, like in other games.

You can save with owl statues. You attack them with a sword then you can click on them and save and quit.

Be prepared to have to play the game for a while before you reach your first owl statue.

As everyone is saying, find some owl statues. It'll take while to find your first one but when you do it's not too hard to find more. Also, you have to hit them with your sword to activate them, which you don't get until you turn back into a human (about 40 mins in)!!!

There is an owl statue right in the center of clock town. So, this one is always available and you won't have to travel far to find it.

Make sure you've got the sword before you try activating that statue in the middle of Clock town though...
Anyway, very early on you get an ocarina song that lets you warp to an owl statue, so saving get's very easy very soon.
By the way are there any glitches on the Wii version?

I haven't noticed any glitches yet. Personally I think it is slightly better looking than the original N64 version.
Oh yea, you have to be able to transform into link and use the sword to activate the owl statue.

Cool.
The Gamecube version was just a cluster of lag and sound glitches. It was not unplayable, but it was pretty poor.

I had the same question. I played last night for about 90 minutes and could not find any save feature on the menu. So it looks like you can't save until you get the Ocarina and you cannot use Owl Statues until you become human Link

Ok I just became human again so now I'm in the town.

The game saves in two forms: 1) By using the Song of Time to return to the dawn of the first day, you will permanently save your progress. And 2) By using an owl statue, you can suspend your play, but you can only return to this save point once.

So is it best to play one whole 3 day cycle and not stop in the middle. Its kinda confusing

If you want to save without playing the Song of Time, hit an owl statue with your sword. It is a suspension feature, but once you start playing the game again, the suspended save state is gone. It works fine if you use it right. As for glitches, most of the time the game runs fine. However,I had a problem with the game. The main problem is when I was playing in the Deku Palace, the screen got real small for a few minutes. This was at the end of the 1st night, but when the 2nd day came,it the screen went back to normal. Is the small screen normal? Also,I had another question. When you play the Song of Time,do you lose your bottles?

@SuperSonic1990
The screen does get a little smaller each time you hear the clock chime at the end of each day and that is natural. It did that on the N64 game. Also, no you do not lose your bottles, but you lose the contents of the bottles.
