Great review as usual Corbie! I just played the game and it's good addictive fun. Finished 33% so far, but the puzzles keep getting tougher. Had I not read your review I would've passed this one up.

By the way, I don't mean to criticize NintendoLife because I love the detailed, informative reviews, but I think this site should change it's review scores from 0-10 to a grading system not unlike that of 1up.com. A+ down to a D- or F.
A is for great games
B is for good games
C is for average games
D is for bad games
F is for terrible games, the worst of the worst
The numbering system has been widely accepted for ratings sites and magazines, yet it's flawed and I think the grading system would work better.

I just got this game and it's great. I grew up playing NES games and most of these games would have been classics had they been released back in the day. I almost cried when I read the first issue of GameFan Magazine and saw a picture of Dan "Shoe" Hsu as the Editor-in-Chief. Anybody remember him from former gaming magazine EGM(Electronics Gaming Monthly).

David Jaffe is one of the few "Western" developers that I admire for being creative and not following in other western developers footsteps with another First-Person Shooter.

koopa85 commented on Review: Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (Wii):

@Sneaker13: The original Silent Hill can be downloaded on the PlayStation Network for the PS3. Although, I'm not sure if it's available in Europe. The original is about as scary as games get. I would recommend that game before this one. Shattered Memories is a joke and I can't believe this game got such a high score. This game is mediocre at best. It should've been called "Icy Ghost Adventure".

Edit: OK, maybe I'm under-rating this game a bit, but I just expected more from this game. The fact that you are completely safe from danger outside of the Icy Ghost World kind of ruins the uneasy, heart pounding, I think I just crapped my pants a little bit feeling of the early games in the series. But I suppose if you haven't played a SH game before, then maybe you won't be let down.

I wish Twilight Princess had kept the cel-shaded look of this game. It would have lightened up the atmosphere a bit and maybe made the game seem more fun. The sailing is debate-ably the only down side of this game, but everything else is top notch.

koopa85 commented on Review: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess...:

This game tries too hard to be Ocarina of Time. This is a very good game, but doesn't offer anything new to the series. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed the game and I whole-heartedly agree with the 8/10 score. I hope that Eiji Aonuma gets a little more creative with the next entry in the series, like he did with Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, or even Zelda II for that matter. As much as I loved OoT I don't want another one. I want to play a Zelda game that grabs me by the balls, rolls 'em around in it's palm for awhile, then drops 'em right in it's mouth.

koopa85 commented on Corruption Saves Incompatible with Metroid Tri...:

I just wanted to tell everybody that if you haven't played MP1 yet, then you need to get the trilogy for that game alone. It has the best variety and the environments are gorgeous. The next two sequels were pretty bland in the visual category.

koopa85 commented on Super Mario Galaxy Shines in 720p:

HD is so overrated! If HD is so important then why does Super Mario Bros. still look good to me and better than a lot of HD games. Graphics don't have to be HD to look good. Odin Sphere had some of the most beautiful graphics of any game ever and it looks like Muramasa will also and neither of these games are in HD. All I'm saying is that you can look at a piece of poop in HD and it still looks like crap.

koopa85 commented on Nintendo To Stop Taking Brawl User Content:

Huh. SSBB is so packed with content that I didn't even realise this feature was in the game. I couldn't give a fig that they are taking it away. Those of you who are whining about Nintendo taking away this service need to read the community rules, says Prosody

koopa85 commented on Review: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64):

@VALERHU: I don't know what you think was glitched about Oot, but if anything I would say that MM has a few minor glitches. MM already had a few minor glitches on N64 also, so I think that has something to do with it originally being developed for the Disc Drive add-on for N64 which was only released in Japan.

@Falk Sturmfels: Thanks for answering my question. It's too bad we don't have any language choices in the US version of MM. Although, I would think that this game would be in French and English in Canada, but I don't know. I'm also a big Werder Bremen fan! Hope they win the UEFA Cup today!

koopa85 commented on Review: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64):

@Falk Sturmfels: I haven't noticed any major differences between the two versions other than the VC game is optimised for progressive scan and is a bit sharper. I think the game looks better than it did on cartridge. By the way how is the German translation of this game? Is the English version better? My brother has been learning German quite well and wanted to know.

I started playing this yesterday and it seems this version is unbuggy, like the N64 version. Although, this game is optimized for progressive scan unlike the original cartridge game.

koopa85 commented on Phantasy Star Online Episode III: C.A.R.D. Rev...:

This was actually a pretty good third episode of PSO. I had never played a strategy card game before this and I enjoyed it. This game was kind of a shocker as it wasn't what I was expecting from Episode III, but it was a pleasant suprise. I'd give it 8 out of 10.

koopa85 commented on Phantasy Star Online: Episode I & II:

This game is a 9 out of 10 for sure and that's only because this game can no longer be played online. A true classic! It is also worth mentioning that the worlds in this game are some of the most beautiful you'll ever come across. Don't compare the underwhelming Phantasy Star Universe to this gem. This game deserves a better sequel.

Download these games instead. The NES Zeldas don't work well with a GameCube controller and Majora's Mask isn't ported well and has freezing issues. Buy these on Virtual Console and thank me later.

koopa85 commented on The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker:

I have to agree that this is a very fun Zelda, but definitely not my favorite. This game also had some of the best dungeons in a Zelda game. The biggest and one of the only flaws of this game is the sailing. This game is definitely worth a play through.

Actually this game doesn't leave you hanging too much in the dungeons(you will only ever have to bomb the center of the walls on each side), but the overworld is a little more tricky, yet not too tricky. Although the second quest is very hard! I haven't even completed it yet! This is easily one of the best nintendo games. Definitely worth 500 points.

I agree with you on the fact that TP is a very good game. The graphics are amazing and playing as link is fun. But, I just didn't like playing as a wolf in the twilight world and I didn't think the dungeons were very fun so far(please tell me they get better). Could some body tell me how many dungeons are in this one(Oot had 9 or so depending on what you categorize as a dungeon)?
By the way I can't believe this game isn't reviewed yet.

@ Edwin
I checked out some youtube videos on MM and I have to agree that MM is the darkest Zelda. Ikana Valley is crazy weird! I think the developers that worked on this game are psychotic! That's why I love this game.
By the way I don't think it'll be such a milestone saving it for the 300th game in the US. Considering it's been out in Europe and Japan for over a month now.

koopa85 commented on The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask:

Many are saying that MM is the darkest of the Zelda games. But, I recently played through OoT and it has some truly dark moments also. Examples: Bottom of the Well(Child Link), Shadow Temple(Adult Link). Those are possibly more disturbing than anything from MM, but I could be wrong. I've only beaten MM one time and it has been a few years.

Well it looks as though NOA is saving Majora's Mask for the 300th VC game in the US. It'll be a long 2 weeks if that's the case. But, I'm tired of getting excited every monday hoping that I can finally play Majora's Mask on VC.

koopa85 commented on The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess:

I played this game, beat a few dungeons and just lost interest in this one. The dungeons were disappointing for a Zelda game and the overworld itself was just too open and big. Maybe sometime I'll give this one another shot, since I didn't finish it. Maybe it starts to get better. It is still a very good game as far as they go, but not by Zelda standards. The N64 Zeldas set the bar pretty high. Heck, maybe even unreachable.

@ KeeperBvK:
You should consider yourself lucky to be able to play this on VC! I only wish i could play this in the US. I have the buggy version on gamecube and it froze on me after completing the water temple, twice. Can't wait for this non-buggy version. This game is as good, or almost as good, as OoT which is easily the best game i've ever played. Have fun Europe!
