@ Token Girl What do you mean "having both was a little confusing"? The game only has the health meter and magic meter, which would be difficult to confuse. The only hearts in the game are the rare items that increase your health bar's size, which I don't really see as confusing.
Also, just to clarify for anyone who hasn't played it in a long time, you do start at a dungeon when you die, just not when you game over. Most dungeons don't take long to get to, either, except the final one, which actually does (mercifully) let you start at the beginning when you game over.
Fuzzy, can you explain what you mean by updating stats like Okami? You can already update your stats in Zelda II, but how do you do so in Okami and why is that method better?
You know this thread really has me wondering why Nintendo is hashing out the new Train Zelda for DS wich is basically Phantom Hourglass remade, instead they could really up the ante with a 2D Zelda again...... that is a strange thought.

How do you know it is basically Phantom Hourglass remade? It could be just as different from PH as Majora was from Ocarina. And couldn't a 2D Zelda end up being a shallow remake just as easily? They've done it before. Link's Awakening DX, Link to the Past (GBA). I'm totally with you on the 2D ones being better, but I can't quite agree with the reasoning.
@Adam. It isn't really much of a drastic change to the Zelda 2 way of upgrading stats. I was thinking in a similar vein to Bass in that you chose to not upgrade at one point, then changed your mind, you could do it on a whim. It just gives you the opportunity to use your experience points whenever you want. In Okami, you just press start and you can go to a page where you can choose what to use your experience points on (if you have enough to upgrade).
Anyway, it wouldn't make that much of a difference to me if it had it or not. I just reckon it would make it easier to manage your upgrades.
Holy moly, do you know of any good fan games made with this program? And are the games Mac-only? If this is good, I'm definitely getting a Mac as my next computer, haha. Hopefully the tablet won't be too expensive.
better translation (but keep the I Am Error guy. He's classic!)
The translation was fine (the script suffered from space issues in the Japanese version too, and looked just as bad), and the Error line is not a mistranslation. Where the hell did people get that from?

Yeah, it isn't a mistranslation. There's the NPC from another town to tell you to talk to Error, then the Error guy will say something different.
