Ok I remember and heard that the N64 games has some of the best wrestling games ever. Well my son is a huge wrestling fan and I was thinking of picking a few of them up for him for the N64 I just bought. Now is there one that particularly out shines the rest or are they are pretty much just as good? I eventually will probably pick them all up but its been years since I played any of them so I dont remember too much about them.

Ok great, thanks guys. I know the place that I got the system from had a few WCW games and an ECW game as well are those good too or should I stay away from them?
I think there was an issue with WWF No Mercy where it could randomly loose your save data. I remember hearing about it back in the day. A quick google search revealed this forum thread http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/1014/t201667-ways-to-keep-you... Its an old thread from 2003, but one guy on there had lost his save file 30 times. The game rocks though, so its up to you if you want to risk it, especially if you can find it cheap. I remember having hours of fun on the game with my friends at Uni.
I played every N64 Wrestling game as a Kid, and No Mercy was the Best
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...

Yeah I heard that too but I also heard that it was the first batch of games that did that and all other versions are ok, of course when buying used you never know which batch the game you are getting is one of the bugged ones. Oh well I guess I will just have to take that risk.

If you get a WCW game get WCW VS NWO Revenge. It was the best. World Tour is just a stripped down version of it, really stripped down. Don't go near WCW Nitro or WCW Mayhem.
Aside from all the Yukes/AKI/THQ Wrestling games (that include World Tour, Revenge and No Mercy), I remember WWF Attitude by Acclaim was pretty good.
I never owned it, but it's controls were more action based (like Smackdown!, another Yukes game). It's create a wrestler mode predates No Mercy's and it was pretty good in it's own right.
My personal favourite is definitely No Mercy though. It improves on No Mercy and World Tour no end (the first game, I borrowed, the second I still own - they're both still fun in their own rights*) by adding features and even music and (limited frame) videos. The story mode was a nice touch - along with the 100 man (and 2 crinkley old women) battle royale and the comprehensive character creator.
* Although the second - "Revenge" didn't improve much over the first - "World Tour"
I was a big fan of wrestling in the 90s. I have WWF Attitude, it was crapped out the door before they lost the rights to the WWF license, WWF War Zone was the game that came out before that. The ECW games were quickly slapped together by Acclaim after they lost the WWF license to THQ and it shows.
WWF WrestleMania 2000 was one of the best wrestling games to have come out (you should take note, I'm not saying its the best only for the N64). WWF No Mercy was an improved version of WM2000 with the only issue being the save glitch that erases all your data. Despite how many times I've played in the past, I could never unlock the final character, Ho. Gamers still, to this day, complain about there not being a new Aki, the company that made the first two WCW and the final two WWF N64 titles, wrestling game and (their opinion is) about how THQ would rather pull a Madden and ship the same Smackdown game every year instead of listening to their fans.
Every time a new, non-Smackdown wrestling title is about to be released, I read about gamers hoping it plays like WWF No Mercy. Its been 10 years since its been out. That should give you a pretty solid idea of what should be worthwhile for you to purchase.
What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.
I'm a big No Mercy fan too, even though it suffered from some major slow down, but it has all the characters I liked from the late 90's/early 00's. I remember Wrestlemania 2000 being kinda herky jerky and very fast. I liked WCW/NWO Revenge too.
Ok well I picked up a copy of WCW/NWO Revenge today for $7 and my son is really enjoying it. The place that I got it from also had a copy of No Mercy for $3 but its was one of the copies that would erase your save file hence why it was 3 bucks so I passed on it. Thanks again for all the suggestions. Hopefully I will get a chance to check the game out tomorrow and give my son a good old fashion Smackdown on it lol.

N64 did have some of the best wrestling games. WCW Revenge, WWF Wrestlevania, WCW No Mercy, etc. Great games. I actually played one a few weeks ago just to see what it was like and I was still good at it.
