I used to play this game all the time. The overworld theme is stuck in my head. Ugly graphics though the gameplay is just as good as any other Mario. Also Mario looks a bit disproportionate to the rest of the world for some reason...

I own all three Super Mario Land games and I love them all. I still stil 2 and 3 are the best, but the original is still fun and was impressive when it was first released.

I want to play them very much. I think I played one when I was way younger, but couldn't really see it because of the lighting.

I got a Super Game Boy for my Super Nintendo console and I use that. Makes a big difference playing them on that. :)

Yeah and maybe its beacuse it linear like the original Mario on NES I absolutely love Super Mario Land. I play it on my GBA. I prob run thru that game at least 4 or 5 times a year. I love the Sphinx.

I've played all 3, and 2 was my favorite of all of them. SML1 would probably be my least favorite...

@Corbie: agreed, the larger screen makes seeing all those small details easier. I preferred the Super Game Boy for all my GB games while playing at home back in the day. :3

anyway, I'm pretty much with Ricardo91 -- SML1 was my least favorite, but 2 and 3 were all right. :3

Super Mario Land 2 was the game that convinced me to get the Super Game Boy. Some of those levels were just insanely dark. But I have an SP2 somewhere around here that I take with me on business trips sometimes.

I love Super Mario Land! It was probably the first Mario game I beat. Super Mario Land 3 is the best.

it's amazing you can still find it (or any other one video game item) buried under the rest of the video game stuff you have squirreled away :P

I never played Super Mario Land 3. Never got it for some reason.

But the original Super Mario Land is my favorite Game Boy game. SML 2 is a close second.

I reckon that game had nothing on the Super Mario Bros. DX. Super Mario Land had 9 levels and nothing to do when you beat them, but DX had 64 (better designed) levels in full colour and a challenge mode to keep you playing for years. I put down Super mario Land after a couple of weeks, but DX kept me going for years.

Super Mario Land has plenty to do when you beat it. You could play it again, and then you could play again, and so on.

DX's levels unfortunately were not designed for the size of a Gameboy screen, and it suffered for this. The challenge mode was brilliant though. I hope New Super Mario Brothers Wii has something akin to this mode.

Yes, I have. One of my earliest Game Boy games. Unfortunately, I got rid of it (stupid, stupid move!) so I can't say I really remember it, but it was portable Super Mario Bros! There's not much more I could ask for in life.
