Anybody playing right now? Maining Ryu as usual but I'm going to give Laura a go as well.

Hey guys! I'm having some first world problems right now. As a poor college student, I can't decide between waiting to get Street Fighter 5 in March when the update comes out for it, or getting Pokken Tournament. I've had a pretty decent history with Street Fighter. I grew up playing Street Fighter 2 on the SNES, and much later on I played SF4 and SSF43D. So I'd like to think I have at least SOME Street Fighter experience, and I'm totally willing to take the time to learn this new game.
On the other hand, I've also been waiting for a Pokemon fighting game to come out since I was a kid. I've been a huge Pokemon fan my whole life. Unfortunately though, the local multiplayer for that game looks really crap, but the allure of playing as some of my favorite Pokemon is incredibly tempting. So what I'm asking basically is, which game will I get more longevity out of, and which game do you think I will enjoy more?

@NinjaWaddleDee:
I'd wait until June to get SF V, honestly. By then there will be more updates and it might be at a more reasonable pricetag than the current $60 for what it offers.
@Gamer83: Really? Is the game going to be that lacking in content come March? Oh my.

@NinjaWaddleDee:
I can't say for sure until the March update comes out. But at the moment the game is as bare bones as it gets. The March update will improve it but this game has a long way to go.
I was going to buy it, but I don't pay for PS4 online. Seeing there's no proper arcade mode or even a way to play standard 2 out of 3 CPU matches AND the main way to get the bonus characters without paying for them is to win 2000 online matches for each character, Capcom (and perhaps more to blame with their exclusive deal, Sony) have made this a completely undesirable purchase for me.
I think the game is designed not only to make you pay for the DLC but also the online for you to be able to play it. That seems to be the way modern gaming is going- to make you pay for the game, the expansion packs and DLC, and a subscription to play live. Frankly at £20 SSFIV is still a thousand times better purchase for the casual gamer.
Isn't it obvious that Falco Lombardi is actually a parrot?

@NinjaWaddleDee: if you play competitvely get sfv as soon as you can. If you are talking casual play wait longer than march. The updates start then but for non competative players there is a lot missing that still wont be out in march. Check capcom unity for a list. Get pokken. I have SFV and am enjoying it but I play semi competatively. Pokken will be semi arcade balanced by the time it comes out.

@Ryu_Niiyama: Thanks for your input. I just want to give each game enough of my attention lol. Speaking of which, I might just wait to get SF5 when Ibuki is released. She's my main from SF4. I also hope that Pokken gets some more characters, because for a pokemon fighting game the roster is a bit... disappointing in my opinion. Having two Pikachus and two mewtwos is a little whack. (I think the game needs some more water and grass starters for one thing) But I'm sure both games will be outstanding in the long run!

So, I bought the game the day it came out, and I must say I've learned my lesson about purchasing games such as these so early. It was enjoyable for the first day or so, but that was short lived for it soon crept up on me just how lacking the game was. The gameplay and characters are great but it simply doesn't make up for how hollow the game is. I find myself really disappointed with the game in its current state.

@-Red-: Welcome to the club. Disgraceful that customers really have to wait to 2-3 days after a game's launch to find out if it works/is finished/has more than barebones content, instead of being merely a good game. That's the state of the 'AAA' market though, and all we can do is learn our lesson when we've been dooped and make sure it doesn't happen again. Mine was Evolve last year, embarrassing that the devs thought that was worth £50. Happy to say I've not had a repeat since, but from AC Untiy to Halo MCC to Battlefield 4 to The Order 1886 to Batman Arkham Knight (PC) to Destiny and now even Street Fighter, this gen has been nothing if not scummy. Harder to find an 'AAA' publisher that HASN'T taken this p*** this last 2-3 years.
@TheLastLugia: well to capcom's credit, they wanted the game tournament ready...which it is. Aside from the launch sever issues the sfv has everything a competative player needs to play. I'm not excusing them; just acknowledging that they are taking a different approach. We will see if it pays off for them.
