As for all the screaming of Sony ripping off Nintendo here, actually a little tid bit of info dropped that is showing that the next portable will be more of gaming iPad of sorts, not 3D. They have actally stated previously after E3 that they have no intention of bringing 3D to PSP at all, and I seriously doubt they do. I think a 3G portable gaming device with "butttons" would be awesome. Full online anywhere capable internet gaming...... very Sony and will be very expensive as well lol. Im guessing this info is dead-on and I seriously hope it its. After upgrading to a data phone and having internet everywhere my thoughts have been on how awesome it would be to have this capability with great games at all times. Bring it on Sony.

Well it doesn't say PSP2 either and Sony has made multi-use devices before. This should be tagged as a rumor for the time being as the article totally dodges and with no effort the whole PSP sequel being made.

That sounds like a great idea. Not something I'd be interested in, but it sounds like something that will interest a lot of people.

Not where I live, have to drive a mile from my house to use my cell phone due to mountains and the lack of enough towers. Even with full service, still no 3G here. WiFi is fine with me since I do my gaming at home anyways

@jk... oh yeah definitely. It does sound a lot like something Sony would conceive.

@ Josh... that sucks man.

More like the iPad huh? So they're gonna make it huge and seriously overprice it?

This is Sony we're talking about. It's probably going to be microscopic, ridiculously overpriced and have no backwards compatibility whatsoever.

Exactly.

Even the Go is not smaller than some of Nintendo's past handhelds. The PS3 is anything but microscopic, and all are backwards compatible with PS1 games (plus PS1 Classics on PSN), and even the Go was compatible with tons of previously released games at launch, which is as backwards compatible as Sony can get when they're still in their first generation of handhelds.

Come on, friends,

I do hope you realize I was kidding on most of that.

I hope you know I was upside-down while typing most of that.

Not that it's relevant, but it's difficult and I feel like I deserve more recognition.

I tried typing upside down.... but I fell

Seriously though, there is no way in this world they would go for the iPad, just they are competing more with the iPad/iPhone than with 3DS. (Great for Nintendo by the way ) The handheld will be 3G compatible and you will be playing PSP2 more than likely but with on the go internet and Im seriously betting dual sliders for better aiming because on the go online FPS will sell like crazy.

That is just my best guess. I think Sony is wanting to make the online FPS craze go handheld. Garuanteed to sell if they do.
