all right everyone - will update the first post to reflect this info shortly - but...

1.01 version of the game is good to go!

I added Joystick support for this version - simply start the game with any Joystick / Gamepad plugged in, and you're good to use it!!

Default controls are D-Keys to move, Z to jump. 12 levels - who's gonna be the first to see my boss fight!?

GET IT HERE - http://www.swerdmurd.com/bz101_in.exe - free, free, and more free.

Also - if you have an antivirus program and it gives you an error message or otherwise flags the .exe as unsafe, could you post in this thread and tell me what OS you're running and what antivirus software you're using? That'd be a big help.

Thanks everyone and I hope you enjoy! Feel free to leave feedback here as well - be brutal - I'm a big boy.

!!!!!

That means the code signing / website crawl worked! No more security stuff (well, we'll see if people's antivirus software freaks out)

That's huuuuuge - thanks SO much for reporting man. I owe you...a high five. All I can afford for now

Playing through it — it's great! However, for some reason I can't hear the music - yes, my sound is up. It think my computer is running Windows 7, but, my computer's messed up anyway, so it could just be me.

EDIT: I figured it out, my brother was messing with my speakers, and their volume was all the way down.

I'm running Windows 7 with Norton Anti-Virus and it gets flagged as "unsafe" (which results in it being automatically removed/deleted) after download.

The Shpydarloggery
She-Ra is awesome. If you believe otherwise, you are clearly wrong.

My anti-virus didn't respond at all. I use AVG.

On Stage 5 now. So far, so good. The music is awesome.

Currently Playing: Yakuza Kiwami 2 (SD)

@the_shpydar - ill upload another build for you to try in the not too distant. Really helpful to know, thanks a ton!

There are a few things I'm doing in the build settings that certain antivirus software might register as a false positive. We'll see if we can fix this!

Also posted the time attack goals / my personal best times on the first page for anyone that wants to show me up!

@pixelman - check in the options menu and see if the music/sound are pre-set at 0...chances are WINE doesn't know where the .ini file is containing that stuff, so they defaulted to 0 instead of the pre-set 9. I think that's what happened when I ran it on the iMac.

@Ideal_Hero - thanks It was the most fun I've had on a soundtrack ever. Maybe I can under-bid the Japanese dudes and get the nod if they make a Megaman 11? /dreaming....

Should have the bonus levels n such done by the middle of next week... Took the last 2-3 days off. Replayed Dragon Quests 1 and 2 in anticipation of starting work on my RPG...man these games are brutally paced. I've been one-turn-killed before I can act more times than I can count Next time I do this, I'm playing the GBC versions...

The program I'm using to "code" is called multimedia fusion 2 - it's dated but incredibly quick. All told I've only spent about 11 total days on this project and I should be done inside of 2 more.

Nice to see someone else using MMF, It's what I used to make all of my games years ago. One of the easiest ways to make your own games/apps with no programming knowledge needed. I still need to upgrade to MMF 2, I'd love to port some of my games to iOS/Android with it.

@AENIGMA - it's crazy-easy now, and the exporters are pretty cheap all things considered. Plugin support via exporters is limited, but not in any ways that have affected my work thus far. Granted, once you start entering the world of exporters / different environments / esc. the programming knowledge needed ramps up with it, but it's to be expected I'm sure.

MMF is still goin strong somehow Good ol' Jeff and the gang hard at work as always.

@3Dash - yes sir - i don't wanna spoil the whole thing, but keep in mind that portals retain your momentum... you've got to chain one portal jump into the other. Also, keep in mind that the timing cycle between lasers and platforms is exactly the same each time through - the only thing that varies is the cannon position, as its cycle is different.

It's a tough one though - once you've gotten the hang of 11, it'll be a lot easier than 10. 10, especially trying to speed-run it, is naaasty. You gotta beat it - the boss is next

thanks pix!

@3Dash - best way to start level 11 is collecting the 2 gems near the start, then bee-lining to the left, falling into the first teleporter, then holding Right as you teleport so you'll end up on that top alcove. Drop down and collect the gems otw to the phasing platform and you're most of the way done - then just timing the double-teleporter jump, and collecting the last gem near the 2 phasing platforms on the left. Most of the challenge is figuring out how to attack the level - 6, 8, and 11 were designed more as "how do I do it?" levels, than crazy reflex-levels like 9 and 10.

finally got a new version up - struggled with high score system coding / data loading for a looong time / some personal stuff got in the way of work for a bit.

Anyone that feels like playing / testing - if you encounter a loss of your game data, please let me know when / how it occured - when you quit the game, what you were doing, etc. I'm 99% sure I knocked out my file I/O bug, but it wouldn't hurt to have a few extra hands on deck helping me look.

New version is on front page of topic - i'll relist here:
http://www.swerdmurd.com/bc_gb_113.exe

No more installer anymore, and there's a level select. Keep in mind, sound modes 2 and 3 are placeholder music I made for other things / isn't properly leveled. Just testing that the code works!

3ish weeks til the OUYA! Feeling the excitement in a big way now.
