@Tasuki, yes, while I was looking up more info on the game I found that it will make money via the NEXON Prepaid Cards which will allow users to purchase improved equipment such as different clothing, premium weapons and items from Gachapons. So I suppose that will be a "Cash Shop" of sorts. Nexon wants all of their games to be "Free To Play" (F2P) with the option to improve your experience at your own leisure much like Cartoon Network's Fusion Fall.

Still, Tasuki I have a lot of expectations for Dragon Nest. I think it'll prove to be a good game.

Yep thats what we MMORPGers call an item mall game. Even though they use the term F2P if you want any of the goodies you have to pay for it. Dont get me wrong those are bad games they are just not for me. I just dont get a sense of accomplishment with those type of games. I mean wheres the trill of beating a particular raid boss for a certain item when all you have to do is whip out a credit card and buy a better or equal item? I do hope that if you try it you do end up enjoying it.

Thanks Tasuki. BTW if the art style of Guild Wars II is like what I saw in Play Magazine's concept art for the game I might try it to. I just have lost all interest in World of Warcraft but Lord of the Rings Online is F2P and it looks nice but I simply haven't been able to try it either.

You guys might also have seen where Dragon Ball Online and MEGA Man Online (Rockman Online) is rumored to be on the way to North America and other countries between this year and next year.

Advertising, much?

As for the subject matter, I try to avoid MMOs at all costs. It's the only genre that officially declares the player as a lifeless human being. I attempt to avoid that status at all possible (although followers of my Backlog already know that I already have no life, as indicated by the fact that I beat 10 games in one month).

Thanks given to Xkhaoz for that one avatar.

LOL. V8_Ninja I love that statement. I got a lot of laughs out of that one. That's funny.

Lord of the Rings Online (Lotro) is a good game and if you havent played it than I highly recommend it especially if you liked the books or movies. I just got bored of the game but I played if since beta up until a year ago. Plus it doesnt help when your guild decides to move on to other games and leave you behind. Although I havent tried LOTRO since it went F2P but I know a few friends who have and they say it was a good transition and that the game didnt change too much. I think a few people on this site either were playing or are playing cause there is this post about it https://www.nintendolife.com/forums/online_gaming/lord_of_the_...

The graphics are great and the music/sound is great it really makes you feel as though you are in the Shire or Bree or wherever you are. There is even player housing which is a nice touch and something that I wish they would add in WoW. The biggest complaint I had was that there wasnt much to solo once you hit a certain point. Unlike WoW where I have found that you can solo the game all the way from 1 to 85 no problem, LOTRO however seemed that once I hit Level 40 I think it was alot of the quests you needed at least one other player to do. They may have changed it since they went F2P I am not sure on that.

As WoW goes for me I havent lost interest in yet but I have only been playing it for about a year and I am in a great guild that makes playing it alot of fun. Of course I was also finally able to make my Dwarven Shaman.

Looks pretty cool, but:

a) It might not run on a Mac.
b) It will not run on a PowerPC Mac.

.......so......yeah. There goes that one.

I'm pretty sure I think I'm funnier than I really am.

While we r suggesting MMO's, I recommend Global Agenda. Such a good class-based third person shooter MMO

Okay, well I'll have to look that one up. I've never seen that game before. What's the story line like? To be quite honest, I like Medievel/ Historical Fantasy RPG style games and MMO's. I hardly play modern or sci-fi games unless it's like Star Wars, Halo, Star Trek or Ratchet and Clank.

@SilverBlacktail I'm sorry to tell you that so far Dragon Nest isn't available yet on Macs but I think that Nexon is working on a solution to that.

@Tasuki, thanks man, I'm really excited for Lord of the Rings Online now that you've told me all that great info. Seriously, I've read The Hobbit so many times that I can't count them anymore, I've read The Fellowship of the Ring at lest 10 times, The Two Towers about 4 times and The Return of the King I've read like almost as many times as The Hobbit especially after I learned that C.S. Lewis and Tolkien based both LOTR The Return of the King and Narnia: The Last Battle off of the Biblical symbolical prophecies of the Book of Revelation.

I've also played the epic Sierra/ Vivendu Universal classic The Hobbit video game and I really hope they will re-lease that game to the Nintendo 3DS when The Hobbit movie comes out next year.

BTW here is some epic LOTR-esque Dragon Nest footage I found online.

To put it in a nut shell Dragon Nest is basically a dungeon runner game.

That looks like it could be fun. The only thing that would hold it back now would probably be lag.

If thats the case than yeah you will enjoy it alot. I did too when I played its just like I said after playing it for nearly 3 years including beta I just got burnt out on it, But yeah for a F2P its one of the best if not the best around right now. If I wasnt so burnt out on it and wasnt sooo involves with WoW right now I would play it again.

Okay, Tasuki! Perhaps if you start playing the game again then you can I can both play together. So do I have to download the game or do you have to buy a CD like with Warcraft?

@Ravage, no the game doesn't lagg unless you have a bad internet connection. NEXON's games are quite free of lagg now thanks to their new multipliable global servers.

I believe you can just download it from their site at http://www.lotro.com/. If you bought it before they went f2p and have the discs you can install it that way as well like I would have too, (Since I got my new computer I havent installed it). All the info you will need is on their site.

I dont think I will be returning to it any time soon but you never know if I do I will let you know but as I said I just got burned out from it. Some friends of mine that I use play the game with went back to it a few months ago and where trying to get me to come back but as I said before I am to wrapped up in WoW right now.

If the server that I played on is still around, I am not sure if the merged servers or what but it was the Melendor or something like that, so IF i do end up returning to the game thats where I will be.

I think I've only played one of Nexon's games, it was fine, but almost everyone sucked at it and I got tired very quickly of shooting noobs with bad connections. That is no fault of Nexon's. They made a pretty good Counter-Strike clone, but I got the real thing, so it was rather pointless.
I tried this one action-RPG MMO, but there were so few servers. Everyone had lag unless they happened to be in 1 of 3 locations; Canada is not on of those. Nothing wrong with my internet most of the time; I can get a ping of just over 100 to the UK and some NA servers with 10 or less... Forgive me for being cautious, as the lag actually affected your performance in that game with the faster character classes. This one does look fun though, I enjoyed Crystal Chronicles (despite it being a pain to get a bunch of gameboys...).

Hey, I actually play LOTRO! But I can only play it at my buddies house because my PC sucks. I can never remember my name, but it was like, Wulfryk or something.

@Tasuki, okay that sounds good. I'll see if I can pick up a CD pack or download it where there is a fast Internet connection so that I don't have to wait for like five hours before it's done.

@Ravage, what was the action MMO you played?

I think that trailer just convinced me to try the game. Darn you Eyedentiry games and your ability to make an MMO look interesting to non-MMO players!

So far, it's the only MMO that's had me hooked. I may give that Dragon Nest game a try though.

LOL Irken, I almost thought that was Cloverfield at first. That's looks very good. It looks like a cross between Transformers, Gundam and Star Trek. Is it free or is there a subscription?
