@Wargoose Those aren't really mechanical and gameplay differences though, that's more technical performance and physics. I'm looking for new abilities and so on, not just minor differences in handling. Pretty much if you were to provide an option to turn items off (which I think they already do) and have different karts that handle similarly to F-Zero's, you can replicate the same experience, or at least come close to it. Otherwise, there's really not much point in having F-Zero exist as a separate IP.

@Bolt_Strike I think we'll have to agree to disagree. F-zero to me feels really different to play. The vehicles turn much sharper, and the tracks feel like you're on a rollercoaster. Plus the boost being tied to health is quite a unique mechanic.

Mario Karts Tracks have long sweeping corners, that encourage long drifts and it feels almost relaxing. It's the items that cause the drama, you could turn them off but the great thing about Mario Kart is how the items bunch up the pack.

I think the two play different and my preference is to fzero. That doesn't mean fast rmx people couldn't make a fzero style game. Just because a game is futuristic doesn't make it fzero.

An online mode would be great, as well as custom vehicles. (I am also hoping for an easy mode, which is definitely for, uh, playing with friends! Not for any other reason... )

I want for it to exist...

@shazbot I'm hoping the Mario Kart team pitches to make a new game. They clearly like the series as they included two F-zero inspired tracks In Mario Kart 8.

@Wargoose To be honest, I would take a remaster of GX at this point.

I really appreciated the diversity of racers and the 'tuning' options you had per vehicle. Also that story mode was weird, really hard and a lot of fun. Would gladly play again on Switch.

As long as it doesn’t turn out to be a ‘deluxe’ title I will be happy. We’ve waited a while for some f zero and I don’t want to play something I’ve played before.

Great memories of F-Zero GX. Anything close to that amount of Gameplay, storyline and customizing would be good.
In the end high-speed tracks with 30 racers is what F-Zero is all about and I think our fanbase has been patient enough!

I love the idea of F-Zero but have found some of the games, GX in particular, too difficult. I'd love the idea of a futuristic high-speed racer with fun characters and awesome music... if they figured out a way to make it more fun for all.

Been thinking about a hypothetical new F-Zero title. It would be a completely unique title for Nintendo but would take lessons from other recent Nintendo and 3rd party games. It would be more of a “always online” game like Destiny with grindy, repetitive levels like Borderlands.

The main mode would be racing online against others, where you earn parts and skins for your character/vehicle.

It would also have clubs kind of like Mario Strikers Battle League will and you would have street races where your club is pitted up against another and you race to earn a higher club rank and more credits for vehicles/skins. It would have expansions like Splatoon 1/2 but on a much bigger scale. They would add more vehicles, characters, and levels over years (I think this is possible because if Nintendo sees that the sales are not a success, they do not have to continue development on it).

The other main mode would be a shorter, pretty difficult single-player campaign that would also have online co-op. The game would have a striking anime-y artstyle (kind of like Guilty Gear Strive but more 3D) with near tv-quality cutscenes and deep lore. This would also be one of the rarer ESRB Teen rated Nintendo games and it would also get a couple of M ratings in places like Australia.

Just exist. That would be a good start.

HD graphics, local or online MP, and follow the formula- cylindrical tracks, tube tracks, half pipe tracks, large jumps, sharp turns, tunnels, shortcuts, and the ability to trade off acceleration vs top speed to customize to your needs as you see fit. Just ensure the difficulty is toned down, and provides multiple difficulty options. The Extreme should be maybe 80% as difficult as GX, Normal should be 60% as difficult, and Easy should be 40% as difficult.

I'd even take a GX port in HD with multi-player added, and new difficulty tuning.

If I can't get a port of GX or a new entry I would appreciate an adventure/action game focused on Captain Falcon himself. Just revive Project H.A.M.M.E.R.. And instead of an actual hammer just let me falcon-punch everything into oblivion, lol.

I want the GX feature that allowed you to make your own cars. It was the best part of the game in my childhood.
